Yes, it kind of does take 16 regular-season games and playoffs and Super Bowl to prove it.

Yes, yes, I know, the Seahawks "won" that game, but everyone knows about the BS ending and that the Packers should have won.

Hawks look strong, offensive line outside of the denver game has been working better as a unit, and the defense 1s and 2s look good (though against marmalard and DOOOOOOONTTTTTTTTTTT CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAREEEEEEEEEEE).  Saying they'll win it all is a dumb claim for anyone to make, but they do look like as strong a team as they were last year even minus some of their players.

I'm excited to see the Niners tomorrow to see if they can score some points, or will their preseason funk continue.

Anything can happen in a football game. Injuries, bad weather, terrible calls, unlucky turnovers. Anything.

Anybody can beat anybody if the conditions are right.

Seattle is not assured jack squat.

As a Seattle fan, I am aware of the irony of my following statement, considering we still biatch about Superb Owl 40.  That being said...

...this game was almost 2 years ago, in a year both teams made the playoffs regardless.  Get.  Over.  It.

It's a game of injuries, the odds of them making the playoffs is high but the odds of repeating a champs is much much tougher.  A ton depends on exactly how many games they win in the regular season, home field means more to Seattle than almost any other team.

They looked strong, but lets not go TOO far...they only played the Bears, FFS. And at home, no less.

They look good, and my Pack is gonna have their hands full on that opening night. It really could go either way. Green Bay has a more prolific offense, Seattle has a much more stout defense.

We saw how that went in the most recent Owl. We also saw the Packers stand them up to what was a damn-near tie in the Fail Mary game.

Either way, I'm pretty sure it is gonna be one WHALE of a football game. Bring extra ambulances and carts, 'cause these two teams will be pulling no punches. There will be no quarter asked or given.

The thing about that game is that the officiating was so horrendous that both teams have an argument for winning it regardless of the last call.

That's why that game was the final straw to ending the officials' strike.

Pretty much this. The Pack have the best QB, the best receivers, the best linebacker and the best RB. And almost forgot, officially the best fans. You can disagree if being wrong is your thing. Seattle doesn't have a farking chance in hell. Besides, they should be praying Wilson lasts the game.

While I am all about letting it go, that statement is 100% misleading. Packers get the right call on the Fail Mary and then they get a first-round bye. Instead, they hosted a divisional game then lost in SF. If they had hosted a divisional game, it could've been very different.

Anyone who treats preseason stats/records as a defining criteria is a moron.

No doubt that Seattle will be a contender, but the preseason is much more about coaches seeing how 2nd and 3rd tier players do in certain scenarios, as well as coordinators seeing how certain plays pan out under specific circumstances. Lets see how 'possible QB2' operates under 2nd and 10 from the 11 and how 'possible WR3' runs a slant at the 1 knowing he will probably get crushed. Also, lets get some film of how our Late round OL picks will block under that scenario.

They play on Washington's Terrible Turf tm  October 6th  and on San Francisco's already-failed new home field turf Thanksgiving night.

Good luck with all that.

Brees is fantastic but Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL right now.
Neither one has a great defense though.

Is anyone actually afraid of the Packers? Starting DT Letroy Guion. LOL. 80 year old Julius Peppers. Too bad the Vikes don't have an MLB, otherwise the Pack would have the worst defense in a division with 4 very good offenses.

Rodgers is killer, but nobody's as accurate as Drew.  That's the safe record he has, lol.

Aaron was one tenth of one percent behind Drew last year in accuracy %. Just FYI.

And no, nobody is afraid of the Packers defense.  It's the offense that'll kill you.

Yeah my Broncos had a bad game. Thing is we reloaded, Peyton is stronger and we are on a revenge tour with the added motivation of winning one for Pat Bowlen. If we stay healthy we're right back in it. Looking forward to the game in Seattle!

Uh yeah, the league MVP is older but also stronger by all accounts after further healing from his surgeries. More zip on the ball. Plus yet another year working with the Broncos offensive plan and receivers. With an improved defense, barring injury we have a great shot, and you know it. Dismiss them at your peril...

The Bears D-Line looked really good last night getting consistent pressure on Wilson. The rest of the defense, on the other hand, looked either lost or old.

The Bears offense looked capable against a top flight defense, moving the ball when they needed to. so there is no need for alarm there. A stupid holding penalty erased a touchdown and set up Cutler's only interception of the night.

The Bears special teams were terrible. Unable to generate any decent field position in the return game and unable to stop Harvin's returns. Pat O'Donnell looks like a solid long-term solution at punter though (and had a nice tackle to thwart one of Harvin's returns). Where have you gone Dave Toub?

/I know... KC

Well they play the NFC West and have a pretty brutal schedule, so if they make it back it won't be due to a cakewalk AFC. Meanwhile, the Patriots...geez.
