Put a scissor lift on it for s&g's and I'm sold

Dumb.

This is neither new or a prototype.

I'm going with "concept" or "design study".

Also, seats and dash look to be 2007-2010 style. My guess is it's been around for a while.

Retro "4 Wheel Drive" sticker on tailgate is a nice touch. Can't read the plaque underneath that.

The comments there kinda clear it up a bit, like this link:  http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/26/sema-2007-preview-jeep-wrangler-jt /

Not new.

It's a bit square. In both senses of the word. Make that a stepside with a better paint job and you're selling some Jeeps.

Looks cool, but I won't be buying one unless it has the Grand Cherokee chassis, the Diesel engine option to go with it, and the 7500 lb tow capacity.

That's the only thing I don't like about my brand new Wrangler Unlimited (outside of the completely vertical windshield that catches every bug, ever).  It only has a 350 lbs tongue weight and maybe a 3500 lbs tow capacity.  Anything bigger than a small watercraft is pretty much out.  I really only use it to haul the kayaks around and the luggage carrier for the trip up to Michigan.

Need: turbo diesel with CNG option, rugged off-road capacity including snorkel air, winch and attach points, decent cargo capacity.

Another H3T? Yeeeeckkk

Nope. Auto makers never put badges on road prototypes and frequently they go to great lengths to disguise styling features before the vehicle is announced--to avoid giving the competition a heads-up.

This is somebody's custom job.

Its a 67 Bronco with a Jeep grill and fat tires.

It ain't a pickup truck if it doesn't have an eight foot bed.

A longed is just as wide as a shortbed, and no more of an obstruction if correctly aligned with its parking space.

It's idiots that turn into the space without enough radius that end up sitting at an angle.

/Preplanning.  It works.

I wanted one of the Gladiators so I could give it the zebra paint scheme like they had on those old nature shows back in the 70's.

My diesel with a six foot bed and camper top would like to differ.

Diesel is very cool.  If I get another petrochemical fuel vehicle, I will consider those first.

I can't use a six foot bed since I am over six feet tall.

Those over-cab camper things make the truck look top heavy.  Is that a problem?

Meh. Jeep ain't made a jeep worth having since the CJ5

Looks like one of those conversion kits; I've seen a few, Agree with others here about tow capacity, diesel, etc.
Jeep showed a show concept pickup a few years back under the revived Gladiator name, like a pumped up CJ8 - much want, but they'll never make it.

Had a Cherokee, wouldn't mind a Comanche, living with a Chev Silverado diesel these days,

Read related story about new Land Rover Defender concepts. Barf. I miss my '66 Series IIA , and my '82 Series III.

Built by Chrysler. Comes from the factory with a loose trackbar.

Kill it with fire before it does it itself.

That Gladiator concept must have a turning radius of Iowa.

State or battleship.

I'd imagine someone buying something like that stock would have it jacked up fairly soon after purchase.  I myself haven't done anything to mine since I bought it in February, and I catch hell from all sorts of "Jeep Enthusiasts" that know I have no interest in it.  But it has 4 wheel drive to go over mild trails when I'm camping and run over the sand on the beach here in coastal Carolina.  That's all the more I need it to do, and it doesn't require new axles, jacked up frame, and tires capable of climbing over a downed sequoia.
