Camel foe?

Camels can be sneaky. I was at a petting zoo one, and I had a bag of pellets in my hand. I like camels, and there was this big, beautiful dromedary I wanted to feed. I pour a little feed into my right hand, and as I do that the camel eats the bag in my left. Paper bag and all. I was somewhat pissed, but very amused.

/probably the most dangerous animal encounter I had in Australia

///strange petting zoo, they had semi-wild kangaroos that lived, by their own decision, with llamas/alpacas

Circus Camels? Is that a new type of cigarette? Is it cotton candy flavored?

I know it's wrong but I laughed after reading the headline.

/If I'm going to hell anyway I might as well enjoy the ride

That's because Llamas, as well as Burros and Donkeys will fend off predators - I'm guessing somehow the Kangaroos know this and that's why they hang out with them.

I actually was bitten by a camel, and yes, yes they are.

Now let's see if the French are stupid like Americans and put the camel down for being a camel.

You can say the same for horses.  I got bit by a horse when I was at summer camp.

I was in the infirmary for a day.  I've never been caught in a vise, but that's pretty much what I assume it is like.

I don't like horses, didn't even really like them before I got bit.  Always found horse people to be a bit weird.

Same can happen with horses. Some of them are friendly, some of them are assholes.

It's sort of like a circus mouse.

camels and babies do not go well together

Sure they do. But you're missing a step. You don't just shove the baby into a camel. You have to cram the baby into a pig or goat, first. THEN you can stuff the camel. It's like turducken.

Depends on the infant. Dark babies go well with camel.  But light babies pair better with fish.

I can think of exactly zero reasons why any child under the age of 1 should be around any animal at all.

Stupid camel.  Everyone knows you eat the head last...

....bite comes just a few weeks after a similar incident when a toddler was wounded when he she scratched by a lion at a circus.

Having had quite a bit of experience with circus animals I have to say that camels are nasty! So was the hippo, Zusha! You did NOT want to walk behind her. Drool all over the place!

I just remember seeing one at the Lincoln Park zoo (Chicago), and it smelling like a bag full of wet farts.

William Seabrook nailed it:

He has the combined malice and stupidity of the worst type of "jarhead" Georgia mule. He is as ugly as sin, and he does not belie his appearance. His black heart is filled with a vicious and melancholy hatred. He frequently stinks, or rather his breath does, like ten thousand constipated devils. And one of his favorite tricks is to vomit his vile greenish cud explosively in the face of the man who may be seeking to do him a kindness. He will bite you, not in anger as high-tempered horses sometimes do, but in casual, cold contumacy. If you are lying asleep, he will walk out of his way to step on your face. A dying camel has been known to drag himself for miles to a spring, not to drink there--so the Arabs take oath--but so that his carcass might pollute the water and poison those who come to drink afterward. If there is a ditch or pit, he will seek it out and fall in, breaking his legs if need be, merely to inconvenience his master. He is lazy and treacherous. Nobody loves him--not even Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
