Blanche found her eyes wondering three tables over and the dining room seemed to blur from the edges of her vision inward as she looked bifocals with Walter. "My God!" she thought.  "No man has ever affected me this way.  Or my blood sugar is dangerously low."

She reached over to her neighbor's tray and nipped a cup of bread pudding with Mable none the wiser.  Blanche was old but her hands still retained the speed and nimble dexterity of her youth.  She would make use of that trait again before the clock struck 6:30 tonight if she could keep her head cool and her Depends relatively fresh......
