I think that's the first Russian dashcam video that I've seen where the incident actually elicited a response from the driver.  Usually they're completely unfazed by whatever it is that happens.

I am guessing its a chunk of the bike. You see debris coming off the bike and car immediately on impact and that goes up after the collision.

I think it's a piece of the car or motorbike (registration letter?) hitting the windshield.

Someone should tell that guy car-surfing is dangerous.

it's definitely from inside the car and swings forward as the driver slams on the brakes.

maybe like a cross hanging from the rear view mirror or something?

if you watch the full video, source provided in thread, the lane changer did in fact give a turn signal. I'm going more with speeding by the motorcycle rider as the cause.  weaving in and out of traffic. He was coming up fast, thought he had the lead to pass on the right, then change left. Only to have the slower car in the right lane change lanes as the motorcycle came up from behind.

The turn sinal went on just as he switched lanes, not before. May as well not used it at all.

Bikes can stop really fast, it looks like he didn't try very hard to brake.  It might be what saved his life...

They dont stop THAT fast.  He had a split second to decide what to do and not enough space to brake.  Only thing you really can do there is grab throttle and try to evade.  by throttling up you get the front end of the bike up and if you do get tossed you are more likely to get tossed over instead of into.  Of course you dont have time to be thinking about all that in that situation but you should train that if impact is imminent you get some throttle.  That guy was going too fast for traffic that tight though.  You obviously CAN do it and I probably have, but that is the risk you run right there.

If they signaled any earlier, the dashcam driver would have known their intention and , like all true left-lane campers, blocked them. Also, the bike didn't seem to have touched their brakes.

Repo Man: Here's the full link on YouTube, Russian cursing included.

Repo Man: Oops, didn't scroll down far enough on the Jalopnik page.

Actually, the YouTube you linked,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyybVarOurw,   is different and earlier than the Jalopnik YouTube - it is 7 seconds longer with more swearing and shows the vid car driver walking out of the car.

http://autogrodno.by/22-news/2/6392-neveroyatnyj-tryuk-v-mogileve-vo -v remya-dtp-mototsiklist-sel-na-kryshu-poputnogo-avtomobilya.html  says the video was released by the Mogileve road police (ГАИ) so there probably isn't a release by the driver.

The text in your longer version says the motorcyclist was "Парень родился в Рубашке" (born in a shirt), a common phrase in dash cam videos, which means he was born with a birth caul that remains through his life as invisible supernatural armor that protects him in accidents like this.

BTW this is not a Russian cam video. Belorussians don't like to be called Russian any more than Ukrainians do.

barfus: Fake.....Physics: Car going 50 mph..Bike going 80 mph..Bike strikes car and body continues at 80 mph.

Physics: Car going 50, bike 70. Car begins accelerating into passing lane, bike slams into car while decelerating, bike transfers energy to car, which accelerates more while body continues to decelerate after some kinetic energy is transfered into a spin/horizontal instead of all into lateral motion. The end result is both bodies (car and flying person) intersecting coincidentally with the same relative velocity,

Looked pretty farking physics-approved to me.

HairBolus: the video was released by the Mogileve road police (ГАИ) so there probably isn't a release by the driver.

The YouTube Repo Man linked, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyybVarOurw, seems to be the official release as given on https://vk.com/wall-64587167_232 by https://vk.com/gai_mogilev  ГАИ УВД Могоблисполкома - официальная группа  (GAI ATC Mogoblispolkoma - the official group)

In the comments on that YouTube  Леша Костюшкин  (Lesch Kostyushkin) claims to have shot the video and is being flamed there for causing the accident by driving too slow in the left lane and other stuff. + there is lots of arguing over traffic rules and responsibility.

Actually there were 2 collisions. As far as I can tell another motorcycle struck the rear of the videoing car:
(googtrans)

Double accident on the bridge on Queen Street in Mogilev occurred on 30 July, around 20.40. Suzuki motorcycle at a speed of 85 km / h crashed into a BMW, and followed him in the Citroen flew Kawasaki. The first rider miraculously survived, told AUTO.TUT.BY in the SAI region.

"On the record recorder installed in the Citroen, is seen as a rider for Suzuki crashed into the BMW, flies over the steering wheel, does a somersault in the air and lands on his feet on the roof of the BMW - he was incredibly lucky," - said the head of the department for agitation and propaganda GAI ATC Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Eugene Žilina.

Speeding biker told himself. As it turned out, the rider did not have the rights of "A" category.

With regard to the second accident, it is believed that Citroen started to slow down, and Kawasaki rider to gape, no time to react and collided with a car. Both rider escaped with minor injuries.

I'm amused that the PR spokesman for the traffic police is still called the head of the department for agitation and propaganda.

Actually part of this happens somewhat frequently.  The part where they land on the car part.  The unhurt part not so much.

Here is an example with a much greater disparity in speed.  Also a good example of possible road hypnosis and target fixation.
