A real road movie, in b & w, we'll call it Zero.

The cast also includes Melissa McCarthy

Ugh. No thanks.

*please note the above statement has nothing to do with the fact that McCarthy is a woman and everything to do with the fact that she is not funny

Trying to schedule Bill Murray? That's the joke!

Based on the trailer, it looks like she's playing a mom and not a wacky crazy in your face comedy thing, which means it could be good. The trailer looks promising

Calibration time. Name 3 people -- other than the obvious ones -- whom you find funny.

Drew recently pointed out how misogynist comments on the site have been increasing, and as a result such comments are now being targeted by mods.

I understand the need for some restraint, but many farkers are poking fun at the concept because it seems overbearing.

Somewhere along the way, we missed the point that being equally respected regardless of gender means no one deserves exclusive treatment.

The battle shouldn't be about moderating comments offensive towards women. It should be about moderating offensive comments made towards anyone.

"We've actually been tightening up moderation style along these lines for awhile now, but as of today, the FArQ will be updated with new rules reminding you all that we don't want to be the He Man Woman Hater's Club. "

Breaks my heart that a beloved character from my childhood has formed such a club.

I was wondering that, too. I mean, sure, it's a bonus, but it's not like they can't show the movie without Murray being in attendance.

Considering there's a decent chance of Hillary running for pres, or at least running for the nomination, this is a very farsighted move. The Poli tab would be out of control.

An open bottle of whiskey in front of an electric fan should work eventually. Doesn't he show up at pretty much anything?

Even if he did show up, nobody would believe you.

Just getting him to sign onto a project is a chore. He is probably the only actor in Hollywood or anywhere that doesn't have a manager or agent. You have to contact him directly to get him to even consider reading your script. That Bill is an odd one.

He also suggested that he may be running for office soon. Whitewashing anything attached to his name could be part of that.

/The fact that he has a mod who is very vocal about being a radical feminist and hates on men as a rule isn't a good part of this whole thing
//From what I saw mods never directly answered questions about comments against other people than just women
///Also a bad sign

Group B says stuff Group A doesn't like. Group A whines about Group B. Group B is told their comments are unacceptable by Moderator M. Group B ignores statement by Moderator M, points out it's apparently acceptable for Group A to talk smack, so Group B will as well. Group A complains more. Owner D steps in and says 'these are the new rules' which mostly exempt Group A, except for Joke R. Group B points this out by highlighting how subjective the new rules are, and how it will be impossible for Moderator M to enforce equally.

That's about it so far.

To be fair, some people just don't understand the fact that women are, by and large, treated worse than men, and this is even more true on the internet. It's gotten a lot worse in the last few years, too.

Some people know it but don't know the degree to which it is true.

As the genuinely nasty stuff online has gotten worse, the backlash against it has gotten louder, and this hurts some people's fragile feelings.

I have no problem with purging the Internet of 4chan-style bigotry. That being said, I also have no problem with people making bigoted jokes if they're being ironic/satirical about it (like all the racist jokes in Blazing Saddles). The problem is that it's often hard to separate irony from real bigotry on the net.
