Just want to point out, that a Kahn Prequel showing his origins and ending with the departure of the Botney Bay, if done right, would make for a pretty good movie. Better than jungle book anyway.

Old and Busted: Dueling asteroid-destroying-the-Earth movies
New Hotness: Dueling Jungle Book movies.

Disney and John Favreau are going to have their new adaptation out first. A year earlier in fact. As much as I like both Serkis and Cumberbatch, Warner Brothers is just showing how idiotic their executive board is.

However, they will be providing us with an Idris Elba/Benedict Cumberbatch meme-off

Yeah but it would be directed by JJ Abrams and written by Robert Orci.

Yeah.

In my mind. Now.

Yeah, can't wait for the scene where they genetically engineer Khan with magic blood that cures tribbles but shoot him into space anyway.

Yeah, because we'll have the technology to create an entire habitable planet (with trees, grass, etc) and sun using something in a torpedo and nebula dust in less than 300 years from now anyway.

/love the way people don't hold TOS to the same tech & plot "high standards" they do for the Abrams films

Genesis was an established plot device, used to move the story not a deas ex machina, "oh hey, Kirk is dying with the exact dialog as when Spock was dying but we have this magic blood from this guy we just met that cured a tribble". Come on, it was shiatty writing, there's no shame in admitting it, you still got paid. I assume you're Orci himself or one of his assistants.

If I was Orci I'd be counting money and not hanging out with me and the rest of the losers on FARK.

You neglected to mention Kirk was dying because of the guy they just met...who's blood cured a dying girl in the opening 20 minutes of the film.

/critics are just lazy and forgetful.

No, I remember. Khan wants to blow up a place because revenge and he has a magic ring that can blow up the place but for some reason he can't do it himself so he hangs around a hospital and finds a guy who has a sick daughter and says that he has some magic blood that will cure his daughter if he uses the magic ring to....oh fark, who cares.
