Of course, this doesn't need to be said, but that episode is probably the funniest thing ever recorded. Possibly the funniest that ever existed.

It's the only two-hour ItAS episode.  James Lipton (host) said Robin was there for over five hours and no one wanted to cut it down to the usual hour because it was so good.  And yes, it's on YouTube.  And yes, it is legendary.

I just watched "Robin Williams Live at the Met" which is utterly hysterical. One of the things that I noticed this time that I hadn't realized before is what a physical comedian he was. The way he ran around the stage is not something common among stand up comedians.

ME network ran his first Happy Days episode the day he died. Never was a fan but he always seemed like a good guy.

Meh. Overrated.

Not Robin in general, but that episode. It struck me as very, oh no I'm on. Better give them the shtick they're expecting.

And the audience was very, oh no it's Robin doing his shtick. Better laugh.

I guess I'm the only person in the world who can't stand James Lipton and his interviews. So pretentious.

Yes, you're the only person with such an enlightened  viewpoint.  No one else has ever had this sort of intellectual breakthrough about James Lipton.  You know what?  There's probably some comedic material in lampooning him.  Maybe you should write a skit about it, maybe try to sell it to one of those sketch comedy shows like SNL.

I watched a Charlie Rose retrospective on all the times Robin Williams was on. Excellent stuff, his impersonations are spot on -- I love hearing him talk about old hollywood and doing his Marlon Brando, Peter Lorre, Johnathan Winters... He was always thinking 10 steps ahead in his schtick

See his World's Greatest Dad movie from 2009.   way underated.  89/97 on Rottentomatoes.com

a great, dark comedy.  the trailer does not do it justice and it's not what it appears to be by the title.

Agree with some of the other posters here. It's funny, but not especially hilarious. There are better IAS episodes.

And that one woman in the audience who couldn't control her laugh needed to be farking shot. Jesus.

I watched this last week; God, that man was something else! But that cackling chick... Gaawwwwwddd!!!... while Robin at the end with the students was rather gracious toward her, you could see his growing irritation toward her throughout the show overall. I really felt bad for whoever was sitting around that hyena, because you know they couldn't hear a damn thing.
