Life is a leap of faith of Lonnie Bissonnette.

The author needs to go take a long jump off a short building.

Or something.

Jumping is indeed addictive. I only jump out of airplanes, but I understand where he's coming from.
Still a better addiction than drugs.

Well he won't have to worry about breaking his neck this time.

Why isn't it just base jumping? What's with the all caps?

But is he really base jumping?  isn't he just base rolling/falling over?

Kinda cheating there with "Earth". I'll see if I can come up with a better acronym, that one is lame.

At this point, it's not like it matters if he breaks his legs, right?

You suck at spelling. That spells BABE jumping. Actually, that sounds pretty good...I'm in.

This. There was entirely too much cringe-worthy writing in that article.

Jumping off the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, he's lucky he hit the water.  There's a lot of ground down there.

Credit cards? These are not exactly risk-averse people we're talking about.

I'm sure it's quite a rush but seriously, that's just nuts. No thanks.

I think that if the only way you can feel alive is to do things constantly that risk your being dead, there's something wrong with you.

Building, Antenna, Span (bridge), and Earth (e.g., cliff).

Your acronym may be more accurate than mine - but I accidentally spelled "BABE". And wouldn't you rather go BABE jumping?

/thanks for the correction

Most of the serious, world travelling BASE jumpers I know are, not surprisingly, trustafarians. There was a little clique of about ten or twelve rich kids plus assorted hangers on that made the rounds when I was working in the industry. These guys would think nothing of going to freaking Antarctica or Nepal or anywhere else on a whim when everyone else was stuck jumping stuff in driving range and maybe saving enough during the year to travel to Northern Europe and jump the fjords for a week.

Isn't base jumping cheaper because you don't need, you know, a plane?

Sure, if you live next to something tall enough to BASE jump off of.

Otherwise, you'll need a plane, but for a different reason.
