Wait, are we talking 'Enter Sandman' or 'Master of Puppets'?

Well that is the job of the Vice President.

The 2000 deal is good precedent to follow. The parties agreed that instead of forcing Cheney to keep showing up to break ties, they would treat Republicans as the majority party but allow Democrats to move legislation forward. Normally committee chairs have an effective veto over legislation and confirmation.

He won't be needed, the Dems will just filibuster everything.

This is clearly some sort of abuse of his office.

The Founding Fathers were very clear that any decision made by the United States Senate needs at least 60 votes to pass.

Sooooooooooo....

Dems are the obstructionist now?

/ maybe we can actually defund 'bamacare; if enough of the middle ground dems want to get re-elected in 2016

So, in the event of a tie vote in the Senate the vice president can cast the deciding vote? This article was most helpful.

It's never going to happen.  Too many people have bought insurance under it now, and the insurance companies are loving it.

So, we get another few years of the Senate doing absolutely nothing? Yeah. That sounds awesome.

Ah compromise.

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Untrue. His other job is staying far enough away from the President that John Boehner doesn't become POTUS.

I'm not gonna lie, that is a BIG job.

I'd love to see Biden get up in front of the Senate and vote Republican just to see the insanity it would cause.

Democrats will let these come to a vote - it will be much more advantageous/hilarious to watch the flurry of vetoes broadcast on live television.

The Funny part is the Dems thinking that they might not be in the minority come January.

Really, 52 or more Republicans. But I'm shooting for more.
