Don't really recall his stuff but he did lay the F-bomb which got him fired. Can't have the higher-ups pissed.

Murphy wasn't really featured until Ebersol took over.

IIRC, Gilbert Gottfried was part of the Doumanian season, too.

In terms of caring for the working class, it seems as though Democrats are more interested in catering to the special interests, such as the trial lawyers, lobbyists and George Soros who fund their campaigns - rather than fighting for small-business relief to allow a higher minimum wage or (God forbid) middle-class tax relief.

If he thinks rooting for Republicans is going to get either of those things his brain is more coke-damaged than I thought.

Yep. Carter, Clinton, and Obama have all failed to entangle us in some new war. So Democrats are weak on defense. So I won't vote for a Democrat. But I'm not a Republican. Really I'm not, I'm an IndependentTM or possibly a Libertarian.

They encouraged an independent streak, a healthy skepticism of authority, coupled with a large dose of common sense and a love of country that was all-consuming.

Probably because he'd get accused of playing golf too much.

I'm a Democrat. I've been a Democrat my entire life.

Then you don't know what a Democrat is. It's that or someone paid you to lie about either ever being one, or to lie about everything other than that.

My money's on Mad Cow Disease.

For someone who prides himself on being a "political junkie" Joe Piscopo doesn't seem particularly well informed about almost anything.

So of course the fact that he apparently hosts an AM radio talk show now makes total sense to me.

Tax relief for the middle class? The Republicans might work for a minimum wage increase? Dems no longer care about civil rights? Weak on defense BS?

WTF, Joe?

That isn't informed political analysis, that's more like the comments one would expect to find on Youtube or Yahoo news.

"Anyway, it all happened during that magical summer of 1985.
A maturing Joe Piscopo left Saturday Night Live to conquer Hollywood.
People Express introduced a generation of hicks to plane travel.
And I was in a barbershop quartet.
Every afternoon at Moe's, Chief Wiggum Principal Skinner, Apu and I would get together and sing.
And the crowds went wild.
Rock and roll had become stagnant.
''Achy Breaky Heart'' was seven years away.
Something had to fill the void.
And that something was barbershop."

Wait, so Piscopo, Miller and Jackson are all right wing nutjobs.  Is there a prerequisite that you have to be a talentless hack in order to be a Republican?  Hrm, Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly...I think I just answered my own question.

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Oh, tax cuts and defense. Where will he ever find a party with those radical views?

I think finding Reagan inspirational is what really makes him unique.  And using the unwaveringly homogeneous minds and policies of Johnson, Kennedy, and Roosevelt to illustrate how absolutely confounding the radical, unheard of interpretation of "Democratic" Obama displays really paints Piscopo as a man abandoned.  Jaded.  Disenfranchised.

Interesting. I have much the same feelings for the Republicans for whom I once voted.

Probably shows yet again that politicians are in it for themselves and not for the people that elect them.

Piscopo was the Boobies-SNL nutcase. There were jerks (Chase), self-destructive flameouts (Belushi), no-talent hacks (too many to list), but among the people who quickly demonstrated that, outside of Lorne Greene's careful parental oversight, they were certain to steer straight into the ditch outside Crazy Town, Piscopo was the first.  He went all "look at my GREAT BIG GUNS, don't you think I have GREAT BIG GUNS".

He made a couple of funny movies and then he fell off the edge of the universe.  And now here he is, 25 years later, ranting about The Blah Man.
