Nobody attempts to buy 16th minute of questionable fame by leaching off Robin Williams. Story at 11.

It could be that William's death gave him just the push he needed to check himself in to an inpatient facility.  The suicide of one of my friends did the same for me.

I don't think, though, that is quite the case, here, but it could be a factor.

Yeah I know. Depression can be like that. I don't know who this guy is, he was on American Idol, and the link highlighted his album cover, so I assume he's a douche attention whore. It's how Fark works.

I mistakenly read that as "impatient facility", and got an image of a biatchy nurse standing there, tapping her foot, looking at her watch and saying "Come on, kill yourself already, Maury's on in 10 minutes."

Which isn't that far off in some inpatient facilities.

Thank god somebody got the message from Robin Williams' suicide and went to the hospital for his depression instead of taking the last step.

Those of you calling him an attention whore can DIAF and shut your whore mouths.

That's why it's difficult to talk to anyone when one is in the depths of a depressive episode; you get called an AW or treated like a joke. Clinical depression isn't self-pity or just moping; it's a neurochemical imbalance that makes maintaining a normal life nearly impossible. Every day is a gray nothing; one is filled with self-loathing and a pressing need to make the pain stop at any cost.

I wouldn't call him that. Then again, I give little thought to American Idol contestants.

That's where I went as well.

My ex called threatening to hurt herself. Called the sheriff's deputies to do a welfare check. Throwing a pathological liar into a psych ward for a 72 hour hold doesn't just burn the bridge, it poisons the well and salts the fields.

Unfortunately I've had to call in on a family member before, after several repeated episodes of suicial behavior that stretched over years. She was extremely mad at me for a year after that.

Turned out to be a chemical imbalance that is easily fixed with meds. We are on good terms now but god forbid there any an disagreement of any kind. Quickly it turns me back into that hateful POS that put her in the hospital.

/sigh
//at least she got better so she can hate me as she pleases

For me it was the failed attempt of a family friend that had left her a vegetable. The thought I had when I checked in was "I want to walk into the emergency room under my own power and not rolled in on a gurney"

Well, if you don't listen to country music, you're not going to well-versed on the artists who've had hits and the ones who haven't.  I don't like country music, so I don't listen to it, and if you asked me who had the most hits on the country charts this year, I'd just stare at you blankly for a few beats, then say, "Hell if I know."
