Nah, just more cops victimizing the very people who pay their salaries.

Hell, thats what my bedroom looked like when I was a kid.
Except for the broken electronics.
And the sex toys. For that I had Kimmy-next-door.

Gee, this could not be retribution for him asking for a lawyer and exercising his rights, could it?

This is what happens when you put the responsibility for enforcing the Law into the hand of people who are not themselves subject to it, or can be held accountable for being wrong about it.

They do get the TV. And there isn't jack shiat you can do about it, citizen.

Don't run, we are your friends!

mom does sound a bit indifferent her son is dead, 3 unregistered firearms and all he got was 30 days for shooting someone? "telling my little 5 year old snowflake her daddy killed her brother was easy" "but how do you tell a 5 year old what the sex toys you sell do?"

The FotY in the article who shot his kid did so while moving 3 UNREGISTERED LOADED firearms from a closet to the garage.

Headline from TFA: Cops 'left mom's sex toys' in 5-year-old daughter's bedroom

The old "cooperate or we'll destroy your house with a search warrant" routine.

2014-08-16 09:47:24 AM
The homeowners stored loaded guns in a closet with children around.

It's possible the house was a wreck before the cops got there.

Irresponsible gun owner vs cops. Pick sides, everyone.

Umm. I can't see any suggestion the boy was seriously hurt.

Accidental shooting. Could have happened to anyone. Responsible gun owner.

"Toy train sets".  Meaning more than one set.

Very interesting.

What makes you think the son is dead?  I see nothing about it being a fatal shooting.

I wouldn't call him a responsible gun owner--why were they stored so they could fire?

That doesn't justify the retaliation by the cops, though.

More afraid of American cops than of ISIS terrorists.

We at least know why ISIS does what they do and in some twisted way they think they're doing good. Hell, even The Joker believes that his mayhem is a pubic service by showing everyone else how close to insanity we all are.

Cops just do it because they're assholes with power. There is no altruism in their actions. Just selfishness and cruelty.

Frankly, you don't. I do Passion Parties and I have a three year old and an eight year old. When they ask I tell them that I sell lotion and and grown up products to grownups. That satisfies their curiosity for now. They never see what is in my demo kit. My 13 year old stepdaughter pretty much knows what I sell. When she asked about it I told her that the products I sell help couples improve their relationship. It's all about knowing how to discuss sex in an age appropriate manner.

If only he cooperated with the police and didn't lawyer up, none of this would have happened.
The police are your friends and are there to protect and serve the citizen, when you demand a lawyer you are only provoking the policeman.

Yes, hubby was very careless with his gun, and should be punished accordingly.  But how does that excuse theft and vandalism and harassment of barbershop customers by the police?

For what? Having the audacity to tell her husband to get a lawyer?

Then again, it is the Post. I wouldn't be surprised if they left out a detail or two.

Maybe it's not her daughter's room, but merely her room for storing various daughters that she has collected? "This is my commemorative plates room, and over here is my daughters room."

Thank you.

My gal does passion parties on the side as well. No kids, but curious nieces and nephews have opened doors they shouldn't have and it's never been a problem addressing them in the way that you described.

I'm not a cop and I'm not defending anyone. That said,  I am curious though why everyone is ready to side with this lady over what accounts to a case of "their word against someone else's". The guy had 3 unregistered firearms, and shot his kid. whatever is whatever, but If those were my neighbors I sure as fark would want the cops investigating to make sure that there were no other illegal weapons since they are such responsible gun owners ( ok shooting your kid was an accident because you're farking retarded, but how many bodies you got on those 3 unregistered weapons guy?). Also, why has everyone just assumed that every word this lady says in the suit is true? Do you all hate cops that much? Do the actions described by the plaintiff of the cops really sound believable? Because dumping cinnamon all over the counter is a play straight from the Gestapo handbook, and nothing says "intimidation" more than a broken muffin maker. Do any of you people think for yourselves or do we all hate cops just because that's the way to be right now?

Unregistered does not mean illegal.
Loaded in the home with no trigger locks does, however, mean idiot.

You may be right. I Think rifles are ok but handguns are required to be registered in NY if it's a may-issue, or shall-issue(rural) area. And if it's a no-issue area then they aren't permitted. I don't think they specify in the article whether they were long guns or not.

Please. He shot his son, and then if he followed his wife's advice, was less than forthcoming about it.

You can't be unreasonable toward the police, and the expect a reasonable response from them. Well, I guess you can expect anything, but that doesn't mean you're protected under the law for doing so.

Also, I don't believe it said that the husband didn't give consent for the police to search, and even if he didn't, I'm fairly certain that the search would all under exigent circumstance.

This wasn't a domestic violence call, for christ sake, he shot someone.
