As a Texan, I'm not sure I give a shiat about Perry. If he broke the law, then throw him in prison.

sobriquet by any other name: Rick Perry should be indicted in the Boobies

That's gonna leave a mark.

The banned Perry.

2014-08-15 07:17:52 PM
Modern Texas saying: "You can't fix stupid."  But you sure can indict it.

2014-08-15 07:18:10 PM
And the derp squad will blame it not on him, but on Eric Holder...because, well obviously.

2014-08-15 07:18:19 PM
The punishment range for the first count is 5 to 99 years in prison and on the second count, 2 to 10 years in prison,McCrum said.

No worries. Perry can be the Republican candidate for the 2126 presidential race.

Perry's office has said the veto was made in accordance with his constitutional power.

Good way to answer the question that wasn't asked. The veto can't be undone, but any shady stuff leading up to it is fair game. If they wanted to go after Clinton for selling pardons, he could say he pardoned Rich in accordance with his constitutional power, and be right, but it would still be a corrupt act.

This should get all those Texas Republicans talking about impeachment.

Think this'll mean having to paint Texas blue in '16?

2014-08-15 07:19:48 PM
Only punishable by 99 years, shame.
Would have liked to see him get the death penalty and then face a tough decision on whether to commute his own sentence to life and risk looking soft on crime.

Too bad that even if convicted, he's not likely to serve any time.  Then again it's Texas so he might be hanged 'til dead.

Since when does satire get a NewsFlash tag?

2014-08-15 07:21:03 PM
It's interesting that the actual facts of the case don't seem to be in question,   just whether or not they were illegal.  Seems like Perry's actions weren't done behind closed doors.....

Great.  Some drunk gets of slapped on the wrist.  Rick Perry asks her to do the right thing.  Albeit he asked her in all the wrong ways.  Liberal Travis County weirdos.

I am a proud Texan and an Aggie and I really don't like Rick.
He is probably guilty of all kinds of this kind of dirty stuff...but I have no faith that he will be convicted and it will stick.
