Pro Football Mock. The Onion, it is not.

Having worked with architects, I hard a hard time accepting that this was indeed satire.

I know a few people that have been in the new stadium (for that soccer game) - the part that they were most excited about was that "their bathroom game was on point."

Having been at the Earthquakes vs. Sounders game on the 2nd I can say that the bathrooms were one of the few things they got right.  Not sure about the ladies side, too much security around to go check them out.

sat·ire
ˈsaˌtīr/
noun
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

Which one was this?

Blame the plumbing engineers. They didn't coordinate their Revit model with ours, they didn't upload their latest model until 3 hours before final plotting was scheduled to be completed, they disregarded the conference call comments last week about this oversight, etc.

Because they call them bathhouses in San Francisco instead of bathrooms.

Actually this one wasn't so bad. At least it had a point (when everybody's focusing on making the place all fancy-shmancy, important details may be overlooked), and, most importantly, unlike the majority of PFM submissions, it didn't beat you over the head with a joke that went on for three times as long as it should have.

Well, the problem is that there has already been a game there and, like I said, the biggest positive anyone's listed has been the bathrooms.

I have a feeling readers of this blog will be lining up to go see "lets be cops" at the cinema.

Thank God this is satire.  Groups of 49ers fans need many options when beating a visiting fan within an inch of his life.  The stands and the parking lot just don't cut it anymore.  The bathrooms should appease them.

It's not like they were building a baseball stadium and forgot to include the bullpens.

Jay Leno obviously didn't write that article

That's the only good thing to say about it. The guys at PFM try WAY too hard, and it's like watching a comedian onstage completely bombing. I always end up feeling sorry for the author, but due to Fark, he's getting hits, so ok I guess?

Maybe they were going for  EXTREME IRONY or something by choosing the best part of the new stadium. The article (well, the headline at least, not like I'm going to go read it) might actually have gotten a laugh if they'd said "Architect forgot parking lots".

I was at Texas A&M in the late '90s and my girlfriend lived in a dorm on northside that had apparently been mostly built before they noticed there were no hallways in the design.  The dorms on one side of the hall were a little smaller than the ones on the other side and some pipes did come into the hallway in a few places.  Dunno if it's true.

I also heard an aggie had made the original design, so it's probably true.

It does remind me of whoever designed my place (both office and apartment).

In the apartment:

There is one cable outlet. It is on a three-foot-wide wall between the door to the balcony and a wood stove. Fortunately for me, I have no interest in cable and just need it for internet purposes, so I have a mini-fridge there and it works fine.

It's a split bathroom; there's a hand towel holder next to the shower and a full towel rack behind the door in the wash room.

In the office, a doorway opens directly into accordion doors to a point where if the accordion doors are open, you can't use the doorway.

I always wonder where these people have lived that they think this is a good way to design things.

I vote that every PFM article should be given the Octomom "You know what I like? I like donuts" treatment.

Just a terrible, unfunny pile of crap that has no business being here.

If you are a fan other than the Brewers that has played at Target Field, do your TV announcers bring it up every game of every series, each time there is a pitching change? It almost makes it hard to laugh that not only did they forget a roof, they forgot bullpens too.

Uh huh, this is why there should be no Satire tag here.

Not sure if true, but I read somewhere that when the Pontiac Silverdome was mostly done, William Clay Ford asked where the skyboxes/suites were. "Crickets".

That said, I had many fun days there. A few years at the Thanksgiving day game, while visiting from Chicago, and the 102 yard Kick off TD return of a Bear one year.

Sadly, Leslie Frazier's career ended there due to a turf issue and a couple ACLs.

Coordinate? Who does that? You fix it in the field by negotiating with the other trades for who gets to put what exactly where it's shown on the print set. P.S.-Guys, could you send out a few $10 rocks with those prints, just so we can all get on the same page?

there is no parking at the stadium, they will be using businesses near by parking, this is why they won't be on MNF. the truth is much funnier than that article

Come on, use a little common sense. Of course there are bathrooms in the stadium. But they're for the use of employees and staff only. The last stadium, the spectators kept forming lines at the doors and making it difficult for our workers to get in, so we decided to cut that crap out. Har har, a little pun there.

Seriously, you don't see a player jump out of the huddle and trot into the clubhouse every five minutes, do you now? If they can hold it, so can you. Sure, maybe they're not drinking beer like you, but they are slamming down the Gatorade pretty fierce.

But OK, you want to be crybabies, we can make some provision for the fans. We'll open up 29 urinals and, for the ladies, a stall or two. And they're as far from your seat as we could get them. Know your bladder and plan accordingly.
