Why not just keep it at room temperature in a $3 butter bell?

I notice their picture still doesn't have the butter spreading evenly during the application phase.

It seems like a promising start, though.

a total joy.

Is it wrong that my first thought was that the butter now looks like tentacles, followed by glimpsing the writing at the bottom and going ah yes Japan, trust it to be you that invented that. Trust you to take something and make it more tentacle-y.

A butter bell best thing for butter. Keeps it spreadable at room temperature.  The cup on the right is filled, about a quarter way up, with water and bell is put inside creating a seal.  Holds 1/4 pound

Butter stays in the bell but will drop in the water if not pressed all the way inside. And replace the water every couple of days. Amazon has them for less than $10. Beats the hell out of hard, refrigerator tasting butter.

If I do that then it's liquid in a few hours, rancid in a day or so. I do that in winter, but can't in summer.

I will buy this for sure. Freshly baked bread that turns back to dough when you try to spread some butter on it makes me rage every single morning.

Not a very good way to start your day.

Apparently the people I've visited who have butter bells don't replace the water, nor routinely wash the things.  As a result, I'm afraid of the things.

If one can spread cheese over bread at room temperature, than one must throw that "cheese" into a fully sealable garbage container until one is sure that the abomination is completely inert. If one has access to an incinerator, all the better.

Have you ever tried to spread cold butter?  Yeah I thought so and it never fails it always ends up looking like this

Is three dead and millions in repairs worth the pleasure of tasty buttered toast?  If you said no, which based on my audience is questionable, let me introduce the BUTTER ANNIHALATOR!!!!  I know what you are saying

i.huffpost.com

Why don't I just let the butter come up to room temperature or heat it in the microwave?

SHUT THE FARK UP DENISE!!!! JESUS CHRIST READ FROM THE SCRIPT...

oh...There has to be an easier way?

Damn I should have never slept with you but whatever....YES there is an easier way than endangering your entire community.  The butter an-knife-a-lator?  Fark it...whatever...its from Cambodia and you know those Cambodians make great knives.  Just ask Pol Pot!

Butter an egg, onion, or pumpernickel bagel,  then broil it until it browns on the surface and the butter is everywhere deep in all the nooks. Then the jam of your choice. Soft and warm on the inside. Crunchy and buttery on the outside.

It is so good that science shows there are no carbs associated with this.

Of course, slathered with cream cheese and piled high with lox, onion, tomato and capers is also a wonderful snack.

Butter on it's own takes a long time to spoil.  Cross contamination with a dirty knife is most likely the culprit.
