Jazz was taken, so it was either Pelicans or Gumbo.

The East is so bad that it wouldn't surprise me if the Pelicans got in.

Your comment about the East being bad was ignorant enough.

I love how the Spurs win, and now you get all these Western teams coming out of the woodwork, beating their chest saying that the West is great.

I'd say most would agree that the 2nd best team in the West is OKC, and they don't scare me in the slightest.

Anthony, she's 11 years older than you. That future better be soon, bro.

The East was, as a whole, 118 games under .500 last season (166 and 284). Only 2 of the top 10 teams by record were from the East. Now, there were a couole good teams in the East, and you could argue Miami was the 2nd best overall. Still, saying the East sucked is clearly, empirically true. Will that be different this season? The Cavs got way better while Miami got way worse, and a bunh of draft picks, signings and trades might start to even things out, but the East has been over .500 ONCE this millenium. It has sucked and will in all likelihood continue to suck.

Being under .500 means that they are forced to constantly playing tough competition.   If anything, thats proof how tough the East is.

Everybody's winning out West because West teams are easy to beat.

No, Eastern teams played teams from the West 450 times. They lost 284 times and won 166. Each conference went .500 against itself, by definition. It's not complicated.

Whatevs... the Champ will be from the East.   The West can take solace that as a collective whole, they beat the East more often in the regular season than vice versa.

Pelicans would be shoo-ins in the East.  They would be possibly the third best team, now that Paul George is out.

Maybe exaggerating there, but they're rapidly improving and would be somewhere like 4-6 in the Eastern Conference.  But in the West they'll be chipping away with about five other teams for the last two spots at the end.

Yeah! Who names their team after a bird other than Cardinals, Blue Jays, Orioles, Hawks, Ravens, Eagles, Falcons, Cardinals, Seahawks, Penguins and Ducks?  And how are the Pelicans going to feel about their soft name when they go up against teams with intimidating names like the Nets, Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers, Trail Blazers, 76ers, Jazz and Pacers?
