mistrmind: I think you misunderstand.  Public kisses?  Fine, I can look away.  Photos on desk?  Don't care.   Having an agenda in my kids favorite comic books and or t.v. shows.  I have a problem with.  I also have a problem with schools pushing this propaganda on my children.   There is the disconnect we have.

Guess what? All that propaganda and agenda amounts to "You're gonna have to deal with public kisses and photos on desks. These people exist. You won't get rid of them. You have to take your offense at their lifestyle and bottle it up until you can complain about it in church or on the Internet because your point of view is quickly becoming socially equivalent to explicit racism."

You don't want your kids to learn that gay people exist? Too farking bad, because they do and no mindless media blackout will change that. It'll just raise more sudden questions that you personally will have to uncomfortably answer while stewing in the fact that they're becoming more accepted while you're becoming more widely recognized as an old bigot.

"I know I sound like an old crank," Vitagliano said, "But when kids grow up being fed lies, why should we surprised if they believe lies? "

Isn't that the AFA's whole business model?

The group isn't the first to express its disapproval of Archie Comics and the Kevin Keller character specifically. In 2012, One Million Moms threatened Toys 'R' Us with a boycott because the toy chain is carried the controversial Archie Comics issue in which Keller tied the knot in a same-sex wedding.

Umm...One Million Moms is the AFA.

But I will enjoy watching some of the posters here explain why this isn't bullying, but posting a business' "we don't serve gays" policy on Facebook is.

again lets not forget why we have to do this. centuries of kids being told that gays are evil desiease ridden scum that will burn in hell, and that is mild. it is now an agenda and shoving thier life style to show gay people as normal people with feelings and the same problems as you. someone had to show kids the truth because of all the lies.

red5ish: Archie characters are well represented by Rule 34.

Fact: Dan DeCarlo (creator of Sabrina and Josie) was a top pinup artist of his day.

mistrmind: Correct.   So what?   Am I stopping you from shtupping someone of the same sex as you?

No, but it seems like you're condemning my friends who want to hold hands and kiss and public and have public social celebrations of their relationships because of the implication that they're shtupping in a configuration  of which you don't approve.

And that's where I draw the line. Outside of politics, outside of morality, it's about assholes like you saying the people I care about don't deserve to be happy because their happiness offends you. And for that, and all the implications there of, you can farking bet I'll "bully" you, whether you're a small business owner, an executive officer of a corporation, or some asshole on the street.

I want a series where Archie is a middle-aged detective with a bad knee and a sour outlook on life, always ready with a fist or a ready smile, and he has a buddy named Joe on the police force, but Joe's boss Mitchell hates Archie just because he hates everybody, and once in a while Archie's dad comes to town for a few weeks and sleeps on the couch, and also Archie is into a dark underground Goth S/M scene.

Also, what if one of your children is gay? What kind of evil, self-hating message are you sending a child? This is why gay children of ultra-conservatives commit suicide so often. Your children aren't any better off for your teaching them that other people are bad just because they exist.

What if?  What if?  What if?   What if my child is the next Hitler?  What if my child creates a cure for cancer?
I don't teach my children people are bad because they exist or are different.  Get a grip.

You just don't want humans of the same gender to show any affection for one another in front of your children, like all other humans are allowed to do. But you totally don't think or teach that's it's bad.

Correct.   So what?   Am I stopping you from shtupping someone of the same sex as you?

Okay, well if that's fine then it should also be fine to remove from sight all romantic situations, public kisses, photos on desks, etc. of opposite-sex couples. That wouldn't stop you from shtupping someone of the opposite sex or anything so it'd be just fine with you, as you just said that's all that matters?

Well then, question: What has been done that you consider "propaganda"? Is not treating gay characters on tv or in comics in a negative light considered propaganda by you? Do you think they have a nefarious agenda to recruit your children into the lifestyle or something? Also, do you think your children or anyone else could actually be "converted" to homosexuality as a result of any propaganda? Because the only way one of your children or anyone else is going to become gay is if they already are. Sexuality isn't something you decided by conscious choice, and it isn't for anyone else, either. Your brain is just how it is and that isn't affected by "propaganda."

Admit it, you just don't like it and don't want to have to see it anywhere, end of.

mistrmind: menschenfresser: mistrmind: Oh, I'm sorry. I guess it's wrong of me to not accept someone for something that they do that is abhorrently wrong. What was I thinking?

a) You actually think what other people do in their bedrooms is your business somehow? Well maybe we'll outlaw what you do in your bedroom because we think it's "abhorrently wrong" for some made-up reasons, too. How does that sound? Freedom and liberty, indeed.

b) Accept someone? Who's asking for your acceptance? All I've seen asked is for people to stop passing laws making people second-class citizens based on their bedroom lives, of all things. Maybe we don't accept you, either. That also wouldn't matter. Just mind your own farking business and quit trying to make fellow citizens illegal for existing, how about that?

Do you ever listen to yourself?  What people do in their bedrooms isn't anyone's business, including mine, but when said person decides to parade their antics in front of me and my children, then believe me I'll exercise my freedom of speech and thought.

As for acceptance, I believe all the fruit-loops that are pushing their agenda are the ones looking for acceptance.

"Parade their antics"? You mean like how you kiss your female partner in public? How every tv show has men and women in various romantic situations? How it's absolutely everywhere? But it's totally different somehow when others do the same thing, and they're "parading their antics" but you aren't, even though you're all doing the same thing.

Also, what if one of your children is gay? What kind of evil, self-hating message are you sending a child? This is why gay children of ultra-conservatives commit suicide so often. Your children aren't any better off for your teaching them that other people are bad just because they exist.

Exactly.  Why we do have to have someone else's lifestyle pushed into our face?

I hate it when those other lifestyles get pushed into my face, and leave a hot, thick load of tolerance all over me.

Oh, I'm sorry.  I guess it's wrong of me to not accept someone for something that they do that is abhorrently wrong.  What was I thinking?

It's funny that you think you get to decide "abhorrently wrong", especially when using a guide that says not to judge people.
