I just do not care!  I care so little about this that I will post in every thread about it and defend my position of not caring to all who challenge my lack of care.

That's just how much I do not care!  Do you want to challenge my level of care?  I can assure you that the level of care at which I care is somewhere between 0 and 0.  I care so little that I couldn't care less and if I could care less I wouldn't.  That's how much I do not care!

His wife deserved it. She ran a square out instead of a corner route. She won't make that rookie mistake again.

Aaaaand someone didn't bother reading the article, which doesn't mention Michael Sam and only mentions sexual orientation after racial slurs and before "other verbal abuse."

"The use of abusive, threatening or insulting language directed at opponents, teammates, game officials or representatives of the league is covered under unsportsmanlike conduct in the playing rules.

"This includes racial slurs, comments regarding sexual orientation or other verbal abuse.

"Actions such as these will result in 15-yard penalties and potential discipline. Coaches, game officials and other league personnel will be held to the same high standard."

Why are you bringing up Michael Sam?  I don't care about that.  I care so little about MIchael Sam that I wasn't thinking about Michael Sam until you brought Michael Sam up.  I just do not care!

What happens when Mike Sam makes fun of a straight player for having a fat wife?

NFL Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino said: "We want to stress that there will be zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conduct, particularly verbal abuse directed at an opponent. Now if anyone needs me I am going to be getting a handy in Jerry's bus.  Leave me alone for about 15 minutes.  Sit down Sam, I didn't mean from you."

No, this is just "If you call anybody 'f*ggot', it's a 15 yard penalty."

I would assume there are similar penalties in place for certain racial slurs, questions of heritage, and referring to certain quarterbacks as "little girly men whose wife is the breadwinner in the family."

Don't worry, wearing a small token to honor someone murdered in a hate crime will still carry a $400,000 penalty.

It sounds like this is more of a result of the Dolphins situation last year than Michael Sam, whom nobody, especially Rapmaster2000, cares about at all.

No, then we will hear all about how he didn't make the team because he is gay, or he will probably make the team just for being gay.  No matter what happens I will be oppressed, but in the face of oppression I can promise you that I will not care.

So, you didn't read the article, didn't note the source of the article, made a sweeping assumption based on complete ignorance of what was actually being talked about, and then ranted about it like a moron.  Anything else you want to pile on so people can point and laugh at you even more?

Has being heterosexual ever been cause for widespread discrimination and bigotry?

It's the same reason that there aren't any anti-white slurs that really cause anger. Let's be 100% honest- in the history of the United States, being a heterosexual white male has never exactly been an obstacle to overcome.

Hey! Heterosexual white men only have those rights now because of all those pride marches they held in the 1860's. Before that, it was non-whites that did a lot of the work; taking jobs away from all those heterosexual white men. Terrible time of segregation, when minorities held all the jobs.

As long as it's done in a sportsmanlike manner, I don't see why not.

Examples:
ACCEPTABLE: (After a sack) "Hey, Mike! You run like a queer! Good job, man!"
UNACCEPTABLE: (After a sack) "Hey, pole-smoking queermo! I bet you only wanted to get him on the ground so you could fark him easier! Now mince back to the huddle and try not to pop a woody over a bunch of guys in tight pants."

I just dont want Green Bay to play like total crap in Seattle on Opening Night. I figure at 17 points they may win. But since I doubt we learned how to stop the run, Seattle will kill us.

Jackie Robinson was also a star and HOF'er was he not?  By all accounts Michael Sam is one of those, maybe if I get lucky and do real good in camp and preseason I will be on the opening day roster as the 3rd string DE playing on punt coverage.

Hell I wouldn't be surprised if he was advised to come out before the draft to raise his profile and career possibilities after football.  If so I say good for him.  May as well make some money.

Representative of the unwashed masses: Jackie Robinson was also a star and HOF'er was he not?

Because people knew how good he was from his 2 seasons in the Negro Leagues. If Mike Sam had blown the balls off the Sodomite Leagues (Ed note - change this metaphor) for a couple years, people would be chomping at the bit for him to play for their squad.

Let's not forget that 2000's one-above-Mr-Irrelevant is now a HoF QB by most measures. The 1st pick of the 2004 draft also looks like he might be HoF material after not living up to the initial hype. What I mean is, don't put too much stock into how he looks now, before he's played a real down. Maybe wait a season or two or three before deciding if he's HoF material.

Also, by almost no accounts was Jackie Robinson the best the Negro Leagues had to offer in 1945ish - Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson are the two names usually bandied about for that honor. Jackie wasn't apt to go all Hockey Dad on hecklers, though - which gave him the edge over Larry Doby, too.

I think he will have pretty good odds of getting in. Having the name recognition and two Super Bowl wins will push him most of the way (only Jim Plunkett has two wins and isn't in the Hall or still active, of whom Brady is a lock and Roethlisburger).

I don't think he deserves to be in, but I would say the odds are much better than even that he gets in.
