oh veggies.  I need better glasses.

I had hamburgers from a local cow.  I couldn't finish it.  Bessie!  No actually it tasted a little funny, probably just fine, but the puppy got a hamburger and it wasn't even her birthday.

Maybe you're just used to horse meat from McDonald's?

My pasta was made from just over 100g of semolina flour with added dried oregano, fresh ground pepper, and zahtar. And one egg (free range and organic).

Well, the egg itself wasn't free range, but its mother was.

Do you like it?

I put an alternator in a '79 Datsun pickup, which is probably the easiest truck to work on in the universe. My Honda Accord was a nightmare. Everything that could possibly go wrong with it (and it did) was either $3,000 in professional labor costs or 6 months in weekend labor. I still hate Hondas with the fire of a thousand suns.

I wonder if it is just random, or a true pSychological science thing. :)  I would like a 50 cal., not that I'd know what to do with it.

You can probably still get your AK-47 if you don't live in the US, since they banned their import recently.

Hahahaha! No kidding. Nothing sadder than a Great Dane unsuccessfully trying to hide under your couch. I was out on the porch and the black chihuahua was actually trying to herd me inside. He was jumping against me and trying to push me inside the house. "Are you crazy? There's loud booms out here!" So I came in and sat down and they jumped on me.

I know that the bodybuilder types use that kind of stuff, but chemically, coconut oil is just like any other MCT oil. Some of the more expensive ones have "exotic" oils. Coconut oil is like 60% medium-chain triglycerides. I use a totally cheap-o coconut oil called Louana, because it doesn't have any flavor. The super-extra-virgin coconut oil is supposed to be great, but after the first jar, I couldn't stand everything tasting like an Almond Joy.

And coconut oil.

It ramps up fat burning and the medium-chain triglycerides are rapidly metabolized by the brain. It does give quite the boost.

There was nothing luxurious about Datsuns, ever, but holy damn, they knew how to build a car to last. He'd better take care of it. It was mine for years and I let it sit because I had something else, so my mom asked me to sign it over so my nephew would have a truck. I want it back someday. It runs like a watch.

Unless they are also unmanned, they'd also have to overcome inertia in some manner.

Oh, I just realized, the 37th and the 33rd are parallel TO EACH OTHER!

Switched over to a Redd's WICKED Apple Ale.  It is very different, and not immediately too offputting.  It is sort of like that Bizzare Foods America guy, as if he was drinking something, this would be like the liver of an eel, but in an apple sort of way.  It is different but good, and 8% so it's got that going and it was BOGO at the store.

Uhhhhh...

We just call them Hatch chiles. They sell them EVERYWHERE. I think most of the ones sold locally are Big Jims. If I remember right, that's what was on all the boxes last year. You probably want something big enough to make rellenos -- which are also pretty easy to make. If you can fry chicken, you can make a decent relleno. God, now my mouth is all watering.

IronTom: ecmoRandomNumbers: God, what a depressing day. I just found out one of the kids I sub taught this year died today. His older brother died a couple years ago in a car accident. I can't imagine what his mom is going through. It's just... unfair.

wow, what a horrible thing to go through.  What did the kid in?  Was it an illness?

People close to the family know. Everybody else will by tomorrow. I'll just wait until tomorrow to find out what happened. Small towns and all. Or I'll ask my nephew later. They're within a year or two of each other in age.

A planet is a rare thing in the known universe.  Sure every star apparently has a few, but the good ones are probably hard to find.  It is probably cool to go planet hopping as a young alien, or as a retired alien maybe.  Still, it is unlikely to see an alien around here.  Maybe we're just not ready, or not interesting enough yet.  Still, we've got a whole planet full of resources.

I loved my astronomy prof. I got away with so much crap with her. She liked me for some reason. I remember we were talking in class once about the giant binocular scope that was being built on Mt. Graham. Our professor was telling us that The Vatican was funding a large part of it, and one of the students asked, "Why would the Vatican be funding a telescope?"

And without even thinking to censor myself, I said, "Because they're looking for God."

Half the class erupted in laughter. The other half of the class, not so much. My professor did everything she could to keep a straight face.

ecmoRandomNumbers: crypticsatellite: ecmoRandomNumbers: DOOL-say. Not DOL-chay. It's not a freaking Italian dessert.

God, that's really starting to piss me off.

Maybe it's not the word for "sweet," but something else.

If you want any kind of credibility, you don't say "nukyular."

I already threw the chihuahuas out the window. The blond one was not happy. She hid under my car until it was time to come back inside. They spent most of the day outside, anyway, though, before it started raining.

It's funny, there's an older chihuahua who *loves* Phoebe; he'll follow her around and up until recently, she would totally ignore him. Today, though, she greeted him face to face.
