German artists?  Seems like the artistry and style would be more of French origin.

Knarf: /who cares?

Well, I was sort of curious as to who did that but yeah - I don't care either.

I'm not even going to read the article to try to figure out what sort of message they were trying to send.

Art is dead biatches!

Thank god they caught these monsters; I feel much safer now. I only hope that they spend the rest of their lives in prison thinking about the grief and trauma they caused the populace of New York, nay, the whole country with this blatant act of terrorism.

Joe USer: You know who else was a German "artist"?

He was Austrian. And had he actually been a skilled painter, the Germans may never have bombed Pearl Harbor.

Do stock brokers? Do real estate tycoons? Does government?

It was a tribute to one of the architects who built the bridge and died on the day the flags went up.

Heh, I wrote a few papers about Roebling in college and knew when he died, but I didn't put THAT together.

His prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge is still standing in Cincinnati/Newport, aptly named "The Roebling Bridge."  I got a few good pictures of it back in the day:

Similar construction, but the Brooklyn Bridge is more than twice as wide, twice as long, and it killed way more people during construction because of the water depth.  Still, it's amazing this man has at least two bridges still standing after 150 years.

Call it art and I can get away with anything.

Well, it's nice to know that German "artists" are as crappy as the rest of the world's artists.

"artists"

No one cares except the embarrassed blowhards at the NYPD. Maybe now Bratton and his gang can go back to things we actually care about like learning how not to kill unarmed civilians.

I hope for their sake that they're safely back in Germany.  God knows what the NYPD would do to such hardened criminals.

If artists were able to plant the flags without the NYPD noticing, then terrorists would be able to plant a bomb just as easily.

So now NYPD will probably add security measures to thwart any future flag-planters, while leaving open the vulnerabilities that haven't been used yet.

A friend and I climbed to the top of the Roebling Bridge some years ago, it was an awesome view and it saddens me that they will be making/have made it infinitely harder for anyone else to ever see that.

Actually, the NYPD would care because it's embarrassing that two guys did that with all the surveillance cameras they've employed.  The NYPD, however, deserved to be embarrassed like that.
