FTFA: One tax-dodging tactic used by Scottish gangs involves mixing low tax waste, which costs £2.50 a tonne to dispose of, with high tax waste costing £80 a tonne.

I recall in that Vice documentary about Britain's scariest debt collector (http://www.vice.com/en_uk/rule-britannia/the-debt-collector-full-len gt h) , one of the cases he took on was a guy who had gone to prison, and while he was there, a friend had allowed companies to drop stuff like shingles, renovation and construction waste and other nasty crap in the back yard of his property, taking a handful of cash in exchange for someone being able to dump a few tons of hazardous stuff there. When the guy got out of prison, the friend disappeared and inspectors had already discovered the unlicenced dump and slapped the guy just out of prison, the property owner, with a half-million pounds worth of cleanup orders and fines, so yeah, I can see how illegal dumping could generate some serious cash in a short time.

Why would you go to Italy to find out how to get rid of the Mafia?

Wouldn't it make more sense to go to a place that doesn't have a Mafia and ask them?

when I saw McMafia, i thought of McMansions, and thought, what?  a bunch of cookie cutter, inflated, poorly organized, replica mafias that are too big for their hoods?

They need to find a way to separate violent criminals from white collar criminals so that they can effectively prosecute each.  Keep the hot side hot and the cold side cold, as it were.
