Aw, yeah. Sexy Rexy is in the house!

If only we could have won a Superbowl with him. Farking Manning. Fark that guy.

...Is Connor Shaw that bad that he can't make it to 3rd string after Thigpen shiat the bed?

Or maybe they're planning on trading Hoyer if they go with Johnny Football. It would be a stupid thing to do, but that never stopped anybody.

At this point Sexy Rexy is a QB coach who just happens to take up a roster spot.

Okay Johnny.  On this play I want you to do a five step dropback, plant your feet, look at your primary receiver, then throw a 25 yard bomb into triple coverage.  You gotta make sure you release the dragon.

I think this says more about Hoyer than it does about Johnny Football.    After seeing Johnny in his first NFL action, i actually am starting to believe he might be the starter, opening day....

They're replacing their third string QB with another third string QB.  It says nothing about their first or second string QBs.  It says a lot about their fourth string QB.  Yahoo tells me his name is Connor Shaw.  I hope you like being on the practice squad, Connor.

Dafatone: There's the Cleveland we know and love.

He's Kyle Shanahan's former roommate and "close friend"  of course Kyle is gonna get him a third string QB gig and to be fair even RGIII has had a lot of good things to say about Rex's abilities in teaching the offense to young QB's, something Cleveland DOES need right now (Grossman is basically the Crash Davis of the NFL apparently)

But subby?  For shame.  Did you not know Rex Grossman is a III too?   How could you pass up a chance to troll skins fans with a "RGIII released by Redskins, signs with Cleveland and reunites with his former offensive coordinator" type headline?

smd31: I think Kyle Shanahan is trying to assemble all of the Redskins' backup QBs.

Yup, Kyle stated multiple times in DC that he liked how Rex worked with the other QBs.  As long as Kyle has a job, Rex will have work in one form or the other.

2014-08-12 04:07:18 PM
Kyle Shanahan is infamous for his iron-fist approach to OCing and offenses. As in, so harsh, his QBs aren't allowed to audible.

Why does anyone think 'Johnny Football' is going to thrive under that kind of system? Look how well it worked for RG3 FFS.

Undrafted rookie free agent who played his college ball for Spurrier.

So, similar pedigree to the Sex Cannon, but not seen as having as much pro potential. Well, that, or the NFL has finally figured out that drafting a Spurrier QB is a really, really terrible idea and no one should ever do it again.

so, are they gonna have to update The Jersey?

2014-08-12 05:39:24 PM
There's at least a 85% chance he starts multiple games this season.

I figure Hoyer for 3 or 4, Manziel until his 200lb high school physique explodes the first time he gets hit hard, then it's all Sexy Rexy.

I think after Tyler Thigpen's performance on Saturday, he's moved up to third string.

Do you really think Cleveland gives two shiats about whether Shenanigan stays?  By midseason, if JonE FootLOL frowns, Kyle is out the door.

You'd think, but now he has to compete with Sexy Rexy for that spot.

Good move - thigpen had nothing to offer except for being another guy in the room learning the offense -

rexy knows it - (7 years in it ?) the coaches don't have to spend anytime explaining things to him - he has double the starts of thigpen, 10 x hoyer , 100 X Manziel :-)

/ I hate for the tmzspn crowd to be right but Manziel looked good
// wanted him to sit
/// study it out (v Detroit 2s he had accuracy, arm strength and took a big hit - in the pocket just after delivering a strike)
