A three-month exhibit dubbed "Toilet!? Human Waste & Earth's Future" debuted this past month at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (also known as Miraikan) in Japan.

If I visit Japan in the next three months, that will be #2 on my list.

What would #1 be?

One of the areas - titled "Where Do Feces Go?" - features a giant toilet that children can slide down on.

*blink*

I got nothing here, that's just weird.

I do have a feeling that if this exhibit were to ever tour the world a good place to start that tour would be Germany.

Overcrowding combined with generations of instant beheadings for looking at someone wrong tends to weed out the well-adjusted and breed in bizarre traits.

The used panty vending machine of course.

If The House of Mouse licensed its characters to the exhibit. Otherwise, no.

Yes.

What's funnier is that last time I was in Osaka, they had INFLATABLE turd hats at one of the 100yen shops. How can you turn crap like that down?

Why is it that the two main countries we liberated in WWII ended up being fascinated with human excrement and other bodily fluids?

I will visit someday, but my travelling companion has no more vacation time this year. Plus, we have a promise to visit Europe in the next couple of years. But after that! :)

This seems pretty cool. I would check this out. No reason to be all puritan about the toilet.

That's not weird at all to me, it seems like the kind of exhibit I would have loved as a kid.

It's weirder that we use a toilet multiple times each day and rarely think about how sewage and waste are actually dealt with.  Our own waste has become some sort of vague abstraction to ourselves.

One of my favorite exhibits was a history of New York Garbage and waste exhibit that the New York Public Library had some years back.

Okay, so the Monet exhibit was much prettier.

I, for one, really like Japanese toilets.

OK, Japan:
An exhibit about waste processing to educate people?  Great.
Walkthrough exhibits?  Excellent
While dutifully marching in a line wearing turd hats?  This is why no other countries want to sit with you on the bus.

The footpegs in the first picture are a nice touch.  I guess I'm supposed to put the head of my dick into the receptacle so i can take care of both things at once?

Seems like the anus angle would be wrong for actual defecation.
