(Townhall)   People may finally be realizing that it is not Republicans but Obama's extremism, his unswerving ideology and his refusal to accept facts and draw reasonable conclusions from them that are perpetuating America's rapid decline   (townhall.com) divider line 163

I had no idea Rush had a brother. I had assumed his mother died in childbirth or else chewed out her own uterus shortly after they put her back in the kennel.

This one actually went to college, but better educated doesn't mean smarter, obviously.

They want other people to pay for it. Socialize the costs, privatize the profits.

Somehow, a lot of people equate "America isn't the same as it used to be!" with "America is in decline."

Change isn't something to be afraid of, people. Happens to the best of us.

Heard a rant yesterday I think from Rush (?) that the terrorists have infected the immigrant children with terrorist ebola who will go to public schools and infect our children with terrorist ebola. Oh, and education isn't a right. Not even for US children.

Rationality is lost.

No. No they are not.

See, subby, this is the problem with living in an echo chamber: you only hear what you want.

In this case, what the author says is true, but only IF:

• 'people' is defined as 'aging non-urban whites'
• 'extremism' is defined as 'center right'
• 'ideology' is defined as 'routinely pisses off his own base'
• 'rapid decline' is defined as 'the stock market tripling during his tenure' and/or 'white people having less of a majority'

If you're black, Latino, Asian, female, or under 40, the GOP wants nothing to do with you. This article is based on that assumption.

Real America only belongs to Christian white people.

An America that is inclusive of all citizens is exclusive of them specifically.  His argument is rooted in intolerance and selfishness.

Well, I agree with this part of the article:

What you've seen with our politics ... is increasingly politicians are rewarded for taking the most extreme, maximalist positions.  Sooner or later, that catches up with you. You end up not being able to move forward on things we need to move forward on. ... We need to rebuild our infrastructure. . .  We're not acting like a superpower. We need to revamp our education system.  All these things are doable. The deficit's been cut by more than half, we're in a position to make some smart investments that have huge payoffs, that historically have not been controversial, historically have garnered bipartisan support. But because of this maximalist ideological position, we've been blocked. That ideological extremism and maximalist position is much more prominent right now  . . .

So I guess part of TFA is sane.

IMHO America is in decline but it is almost solely Republicans fault. Or Conservatives fault.

Don't read intel reports of an impending attack on your country. Allowing yourselves to be attacked.

Deregulate banking.

Institute huge tax cuts for the rich.

Spend trillions attacking the wrong country. Ruining your international reputation , all the good will and sympathy from the rest of the world. Not to mention killing 10's of thousands of iraqis.

When someone comes along to fix this litany of failure , refuse to workwith him for 8 years , obstructing any progress.
While spending all your energy on a series of false scandals.

I'd agree with you if their "solution" to rebuild infrastructure just means privatizing all the roads and the "revamp" of education just means breaking the teacher's unions, ending pensions and handing tax dollars to private religious schools.

Can you imagine Eisenhower proposing the Interstate Highway System today? The screams of "SOSHULISM!" and "You ain't taking mah tax dollars here in Skeeter County to build some big-city highway them poors might use!" would be audible from Jupiter

My problem with Obama is he isn't extremist enough.

For example I was promised that there would be a lot of death panels yet as I look around me numerous morons remain resolutely undeath-panelled. Also has anyone considered the possibility of addressing The Florida Issue with high altitude bombing. No. Empty suit indeed.

FTF Bio: After finishing school, David Limbaugh taught business law at Southeast Missouri State from 1977 to 1978. David Limbaugh was admitted to the bar in 1978 and has practiced law for 20 years.

He taught business law before passing the bar exam.  I didn't realize anyone would let you do that.  Good on you, SEMS.  Or I guess he could have been a TA or something, in which case it is very strange that he is still putting it in his bio.

Funny enough, I completely agree with Fox News. Obama is the worst f***ing socialist in history.

The DOW is up, his stimulus plan involved massive top-heavy tax cuts, no one went to jail under his handling of the bank/auto bailouts, his administration sold GM shares at a loss so as to not disrupt the markets, his Federal Reserve chief believes in free money forever, and his signature domestic policy achievement is a giant handout to the very companies that are causing the spike in medical costs. Barack Obama is a terrible socialist.

/Very low marx in school
