Plus one for the headline.

Quality workmanship, right there.

OK.  But how do we prevent the other illnesses from North Carolina from infecting us all?

Subby obviously didn't RTFA. 3 who worked with ebola patience, does not equal all.

If the disease gets loose and starts killing people I guess North Carolina going out first is OK

You'd think their deity would protect them.

Maybe they don't pray or believe hard enough.

Understand the Farking Article.  I think I would have used UTIA in that situation, but I might need to think about that a little bit.

yadda yadda blood contact required and yadda.

But still, us kids raised watching The Andromeda Strain  (the old GOOD version) kinda wish they were kept in a hazmat suit until they got here, like those other two guys.

FTFA: For now, their quarters will be five motor homes anchored in the mission's RV park on its wooded 90-acre campus not far from the South Carolina line. Eight others, including six children, also are in quarantine on the property.

Wouldn't some sort of ship a couple miles offshore be a more secure site than a North Carolina trailer park? We're talking about Ebola for f*ck's sake.

Probably not. A ship or large yacht requires a crew, and frequent resupply. The term "close quarters" describes things very well. The best defense against spreading Ebola is space enough where you don't get direct contact between people. If Ebola were an airborne pathogen, we might be having a different discussion, but a ship is still a bad plan.

In 1980, I was stationed in Hawaii and living off-base. I caught the flu, and early one morning I got up around 3 am to go vomit. I performed my ablutions, then groggily came into the living room and turned on the TV. I see a monkey in a Plexiglas box. Then the alien bacteria(?) is released into the box, and the monkey dies immediately and horribly. I turned the TV off and went and had nightmares for the next 48 hours. I had no idea what I'd watched until years later, when I read the Michael Crichton novel.

That scene geetered me right out.

TFA disappoints.  I was hoping the patients were going to sequester with the legislature.

Evil spirits and witchcraft, like other diseases.

The property isn't a trailer park. But it is located in a very busy area with many neighborhoods nearby. But hey, if they get bored they can always walk to Carrowinds for the day.

I always get a kick out of Farker's contempt for missionaries in Africa.  My step-mom was raised there.  Her Dad was a surgeon that saved the lives of hundreds of Africans.  She's now an eye surgeon and does charity work there too.  She also employs over 30 people here in the US.  In short, she's an all star and you are not.

From the 1000s of comments I've read here on Fark in the past decade, I'm guessing the average Fakers contributions to humanity include getting trashed on domestic beer and sensational revulsion for anyone they suspect does not walk the line that the DNC throws out.
