So the penalty for some stones in your face is stones in your face?

2014-08-11 10:39:38 AM
So being gay now may mean prison or death in Kenya while polygamous heterosexual marriage has been made legal?

Because family values and think of the children?

According to the Republican Liberty party?

Wow, that's pretty farked up.

I think a warm thank you to James Inhofe and his good Christian pals for helping to get gay people killed in Africa is in order.

Probably best done in some sort of broadcast social media channel.

Kenya's current penal code states: "Any male person who, whether in public or private, commits any act of gross indecency with another male person, or procures another male person to commit any act of gross indecency with him, or attempts to procure the commission of any such act by any male person with himself or with another male person, whether in public or private, is guilty of a felony."

But scissoring is still ok, right?

Do you three really think that people in Kenya give a damn about what people in the United States do or think about them?  The only people to blame here is the Kenyans.  Stop trolling American religious conservatives when they don't deserve it.  I realize you and many other believe that they always deserve trolling.  But seriously, our conservatives have nothing to do with this.

They can't do this.  Where would they get the stones?  Every picture I've seen of Kenya, I'm not seeing many boulders or rocks.  Are they using big globs of dirt?  If so, that would be a lot worse.  Would take a lot longer to kill someone with the softer material.

Considering the quotes of the bill's author, it's hard to believe that there isn't some US-based right-wing religious group partially behind this.

Perhaps you should take a look into the role of the people we mentioned, as well as The Family, Cru, and Exodus International before you reflexively dismiss the claims out of hand.  Toss Jeff Warren in there, too.  Financial, logistical, and "moral" support.

"The petition aims at providing a comprehensive and enhanced legislation to protect the cherished culture of the people of [country name redacted], legal, religious and traditional family values against the attempts of sexual rights activists seeking to impose their values of sexual promiscuity on the people of [country name redacted].
"There is need to protect children and youth who are vulnerable to sexual abuse and deviation as a result of cultural changes, uncensored information technology, parentless child developmental settings and increasing attempts by homosexuals to raise children in homosexual relationships through adoption, foster care or otherwise."

If you didn't know this came from TFA, you'd believe in a second it came from the AFA or some such nutty right-wing social conservative organization here in the US.

You realize that the Bible is pretty clear that false witness is a sin, right? There isn't a special, "but it's ok to advance your personal agenda of hate that you for some reason think is inspired by God" exemption. This isn't even a "well it could be interpreted in different ways" type of passage. It's one of the friggin' ten commandments but for some reason conservative Christians believe they're exempt and there is no limit to the number of lies they will tell to cover up for the consequences of their actions or to hide their goals. East Africa is crawling with conservative Christians from the US trying to impose the theocracy they've thus far been unable to impose at home. Of course you knew that and were giving God and the ten commandments the finger because apparently you're smarter than God or you think he gave you a wink and told you that being a liar is ok as long as it is in his service.

Reminds me of the previous governor of Georgia who claimed his opposition to Sunday alcohol sales wasn't based on religion but was so Georgians could learn time management skills by buying other days of the week. It amazes me just how far these people are willing to go against the teaching of their holy book to make everyone conform to their holy book.

This is the most disgusting aspect of conservative shiat wizards.

They at some level get that things like war crimes or sponsoring killing gays or whatever is wrong.

But rather than not support people that do that they just pretend that those things aren't happening.

So for perspective, that means they care enough about the slaughter of innocent people to lie to each other about it happening, but not actually enough to switch their support to people that don't do it.
