Pretty much Douche personified. Kinda like the band though. And I'm not a huge Canadiens fan.

But rooting for the Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins prettttty much makes you scum in my mind :-)

On one hand I say, "hey guy, they beat us. Diving and antics aside, they won".

The other side (my actual self) says, " good. You had the balls to stand on a stage in front of 10's of thousands of Poutine eating surrender monkey bastards and figuratively piss and shiat on their parade".

I'm actually surprised this got greened but no matter, glad to have a hockey thread in August and more happy to have one in which we can shiat on the Habs.

Fark that band and anyone associated with them.

CSB: 4 or 5 years ago they played a concert after an AHL game here. The 3rd period horn sounded (in a tie game) and the band's security came down and stood by the glass, in the aisle. (We sit at the end of the ice w/ the temporary stage for concerts.) As the overtime started, the guy by us was asked to squat down so that people could see the game. He refused and stood w/ his arms crossed. The people in the corner couldn't see the goal or crease.

What started out nicely asking turned into threats. He eventually told someone to "Move me, asshole." When 3 people stood up, that pussy whipped out a tiny canister of pepper spray. Seeing as there was a 3 and a 5 year-old in the front row they backed down.

There were multiple complaints to the team and the venue. Their response was, "They're not our people, there's nothing we can do about it." At least they're not coming back.

My daughter was there, texted me at the time... said the Murphys fans greatly outnumbered the Habs fans.

I remember hitting an S.O.D (Stormtroopers of Death) concert in Boston, and they made fun of the Red Sox.

Reminds me of my brother in laws bachelor party. Went to Montreal, took in the casino, the sights...
It was awesome. The entire city was flooded with Boston fans because the Red Sox were in town. The police threatened to arrest us. "You wouldn't act like this in Boston!" they said.

"What do you mean? This is exactly how we would act in Boston."
And we caught the last Red Sox/Expos game ever. It was a sell out and I saw El Guapo bunt....

"Most of those in attendance are fans of the Bruins, arch-rivals, the Montreal Canadiens."

Apostrophe, comma, whatever.  Just go with it.

/First read it as most of the fans being for the Bruins.

You were there on a Tuesday? My memory is fuzzy about that series. I went to the game on Sunday and it was 75% Red Sox fans. But I thought that was the third game of the series. 2001, right?

I believe that is better known as a "gunt"

Also, that Tuesday game wasn't a sellout. Maybe you were at the same game I was.

Why would most of the people in attendance in Montreal be Bruins fans?

oh I get it now. They used a comma instead of an apostrophe. Well that's stupid.

The Dropkick Murphys are as old and tired as Chara.

Between those guys and Flogging Molly, I'd be a happy camper if I didn't have to hear any of their three songs ever again.

Forever ruined by local idiots at an area drinking hole who think constantly playing those bands while drinking craptastic Guinness and an occasional shot of Jameson makes them Irish. Bonus points for wearing those stupid hats.

/Almost went to that Admirals game Burn the Plows mentioned where they Dropkick Murphys played

The whole band's shtick is, "WE'RE BAWWWWSTONNN"

Yeah, we get it, shut up already.

What's wrong with Dropkick Murphys? Not my favorite band, but far from terrible. Is this a "Fark Bah-stahn" thing?

That's more a story about the venue staff than about the Dropkicks. I like their cover of fields Of Athenry, Tessie and The Dirty Glass but beyond those I don't have much use for them. Their version of The Parting Glass sucks. Wild Rover is ok.

I like Dropkick Murphys, but every show of theirs I have been to, they have to mention at least once how they are from Boston or give a shout-out to a Boston sports team. It seems like Ken Casey is the main culprit though.

An argument between French Canadians and Bostonians?

I'm sure I would have understood every word in that discussion.
