I think people forget that all sides in Syria are anti-American.

As far as Iraq goes, they created their own mess, by refusing to sign a Status of Forces agreement. Their government wasn't particularly inclusive either.

And nobody can solve the Israel/Palestine debacle.

2014-08-11 09:14:29 AM
none of this would be happening if bush hadn't invaded iraq, toppling its stable government.

2014-08-11 09:22:44 AM
I wonder if you had a followup interview with Clinton if she'd agree with all the conclusions this article has drawn from her statements.

Ok, he's a do nothig empty suit this week. Got it.

EvilEgg: I think people forget that all sides in Syria are anti-American.

I think you forget that one side in America is anti-American so long as there's a Democrat in the White House.

They ain't forgot shiat. When the only thing you care about is being in power, it's all about opposing whatever the other guy is - or is not - doing regardless of how your behavior will affect the country.

Oh goodie, the 2016 campaigning has begun.

I typically create calendar alerts each morning to let me know whether we're talking about DICKtator* Obama, or feckless Obama.  It's hard to keep track otherwise.

* I don't know if you saw what I did there, but I added a 'k' to 'dictator' so that it spelled 'dick', implying that Obama is also a dick.

This is the week where the Total Farkers defend Obama from one of their own, and pretend the attacks is from the right.

We can put you down as "pro-authoritarian governments," then?

At least, for certain people.

Clinton should go there, dodge some sniper fire and kill the terrists with repeated roundhouse kicks to the head then come back dead broke because she spent all her money on ammo and body armor, then she can regale us all with her stories.

To be fair, everything she's ever said is 100% accurate, as is the story you just told about her.

This just in.

All Politicians have 20/20 hindsight.

That is all.

Being the world's police force is another example, and consequence, of this country's monied interests socializing costs while privatizing gains.

And how has Hilary's judgement historically been when then it comes to military action?

As I recall, she and McCain share a passion for going to war.

Its an artifical country with no national identity full of violent relgious nuts.

At least Saddam was secular.

All joking aside, pretty much this. Some people here might have forgotten that she tacked hard right on foreign policy during the 2008 primaries, including her threat to "obliterate Iran"... she sounded more like McCain, and I expect to see that mirroring happen again.

/not voting for GOP, but not a fan of the Clintons by any means

Lexx: America is not the world's police force.  Repeat: America is NOT the world's police force.

And honestly, if the people we were "saving" were good people who, immediately upon being 'liberated' implemented democracy, equal rights, fought corruption, and properly trained their military, I'd be all for it!  Sure, let's take down Saddam.  Fine, let's depose the Shah.  But that has literally never happened one damn time but for some reason, we keep wanting to do it.  Whatever country we target always ends up just as bad, if not worse, than before, and we have nothing to show for it except thousands of dead or maimed troops, and billions/trillions of dollars wasted.  How much domestic good could the money we spent in Iraq have done?

2014-08-11 09:45:11 AM
Yes sirree, that's what caused it alright - everything was peachy in the Middle East up to that point.

This is the one thing I just don't get.  None of the liberal talking heads or Obama supporters on TV mention this while defending his decision to get out of Iraq.  I don't know why.

Sure they can. The Israeli parliament deputy speaker Moshe Feiglin already came up with a perfect plan to solve the problem. Concentrate and exterminate the Palestinian population.

Considering the Bush Administration allowed private contractors like Blackwater to operate with legal immunity within their country, do you blame them at all for refusing the SoF?

Damn the Fartbongo and his time machine!

Why did he have to go back to the year 680 at the battle of Karbala??? If only he had left things alone, all of Islam would have been peacefully united for almost 1400 years!

Damn that Fartbongo! How could he do such a thing to his fellow Muslins?

Ummm... Noooo. Whoevers we gonna done give weapons to would be all like "America is #1!!!" We'll be greeted as liberators and the war will be over in a matter of a few weeks. Oh, and it'll pay for itself. Oh, oh, and we'll find unicorns. Yes, unicorns.
