(TooFab)   Cool: Daniel Radcliffe wants a part in Sharknado 3. Interesting: but only if his character "meets an interesting death." Fark: With bonus Tara Reid. Wait, what?   (toofab.com ) divider line

dookdookdook: Remember when Sci-Fi was an intelligent, respectable network?

Not really. The only thing I remember about it before their shiatty original movies and wrestling was MST3K and fark them for canceling it.

/likes Sharknado
//hates everything else they do now

I wish more actors would slum it occasionally. Its a lot better than when I was growing up when it was only older actors that seemed to do a favor or just have fun in a non-desperate for cash way.

Hey, it worked for Wil.

How do you define "interesting death" on a shoestring budget? Does an airborne shark slam into you and you fall into a wood chipper?

So the dude wants to work with Tara Reid. I seriously doubt he'll have any difficulty coming up with a thousand dollars. Makes sense to me...

You mean back when they played MST3K, and re-runs of syndicated sci-fi programming that was killed before it's time?

And SG-1 was good without having a million spinoffs clogging up the lore?

The only movie I will watch on that channel is Supergator, Holly Weber.

Tara Reid is now to Sharknado what Milla Jovovich is to Resident Evil.

*rapid eye blinks*

I....uh....don't know what salient point I was trying to make anymore. Shlockfest-induced seizure, I guess.

You people are looking at Sharknado in the wrong light. The directors, film crew, and staff know it's a shiatstain of a BM in the toilet of Hollywood.   They don't care. Their entire intention in this, thanks to the internet, is to play as many memes as they can.

And it works.

It's not a good movie by any means. Especially if you take it seriously. And if you do, get help.

I believe the scene wrote itself once the venereally diseased Reid showed up.

Scfi on braodcast tv was dead when the producers of Star Trek NG found out the single guys were recording it and skipping over the commercials and that the only people watching the commercials were couples where the women of the house didn't allow excessive remote control use.  It was all over when they started running tampon commercials because there just wasn't a decent budget.

There's nothing wrong with silly/stupid movies. It worked for the Marx Brothers.

I see it more as a satire of bad movies. I guess it's a fine line between it and the other SyFy Original movies. It's certainly not a movie you would watch alone or more than once. But it was fun watching it with 5 other guys and girls and on Fark (don't have a Twitter account).

I listened to the entire interview, I'm impressed on how well adjusted he sounds, he could have easily turned into Danny Bonaduce.

I always saw it as an homage to the 50s shock-film and B-movie genre.

Same here, it is 50s Drive-in movie horror, and it is very entertaining.

Yeah, most all of this.
I'd like to see him die from a shark bite to the head. Which would leave a Harry Potter type forehead scar, of course.

Hmmmm... How about a scene where someone is aaterskiing over a jump and a shark jumps out and eats them. Then cut to Winkler saying, "Pfft. Amateurs."

I didn't think it was possible to find Daniel Radcliffle more likeable.

Tom_Slick: I listened to the entire interview, I'm impressed on how well adjusted he sounds, he could have easily turned into Danny Bonaduce.

That's because he didn't grow up in Hollywood. Yes, the Harry Potter movies made billions for Warner Brothers, but having been shot exclusively Britain, he didn't grow up the with excesses of Hollywood life. I would have been surprised if he and his costars weren't better adjusted than our child stars.

2014-08-09 04:03:44 PM
He should join the ranks of actors who have played goofy variations of themselves....
He should play a Daniel Radcliffe who barely survives a shark attack at the beginning of the movie, and the shock makes him believe he is a wizard....He can die while pointing a stick at a flying shark and speaking faux-Latin spells....

Does he still seem to be exciteable and nervous? I've seen him on Norton twice and Fallon once. He always seems to be on edge, or meth.

Yeah... no.    Both movies were lazy, sloppy pieces of crap.  The first one got attention for being a tremendously shiatty movie, then SyFy decided to go with the "it was on purpose" bit.  Now, they're riding the wave. I don't begrudge them that;  who gives a shiat if they make money?  But don't pretend it was on purpose. They got lucky.
