He then shot Lake two or three times

Nowhere in TFA does it mention a witness or a cover-up.  The dad shot the boyfriend, left in a car, then turned himself in.

Is there another story with the missing info in it?

Did you watch the video in the article? The daughter witnessed her dad shooting her boyfriend, and her mother was arrested for not helping police help them find her husband, his vehicle or weapon.
There's also a brief bit with another witness who was one of the victim's friends. The young man was murdered practically in front of his own home.

she is being held. there is MORE to the story than was reported, or they wouldnt be charging her.
She probably called the cops and lied to the police.
Which is accessory after the fact. Covering up a murder is a felony.

Dead boyfriend appears to be part Indian, as in native American.  I think that's what set off dad.

here is one from KFOR:  http://kfor.com/2014/08/08/oklahoma-officer-arrested-for-accessory-to - murder-released-on-bond/

and KWTV:  http://www.news9.com/story/26209978/two-tulsa-police-officers-arreste d -after-fatal-shooting

remember reading something about she met this guy at a homeless shelter (still no reason to kill the guy) and something else that she was adopted. I guess the new story is she got released on bond but at first after telling investigators they would turn over the vehicle and weapon they couldn't locate it and the suspects were not cooperating.

A friend of Lake's who was at the scene when the shooting occurred, Josh Mills, 23, said that Shannon Kepler had also attempted to shoot Lake's brother, 13, as he sat on the front porch of the home. Mills claims that the bullet missed but was deflected and caused a grazing injury to the boy's arm.

"This is absolutely unfortunate and we are sad for the family of the victim and the Keplers," public information officer Jillian Roberson of the Tulsa Police Department said on Thursday. "It's a very hard case for us but we are treating it just like any other homicide investigation."

Yeah, but they're sad for the Keplars and it's hard to treat this like any other case. That money is desperately needed right about now.

Obviously not NYPD, because if he was, he'd have hit all the bystanders and grazed himself, completely missing his intended target, then the police would have charged the boyfriend for the murders.

Obviously not LAPD, because he didn't reload 8 times and still miss everybody he shot at.

The version I read several days ago went like this:

Dad and Mom kick daughter out of the house for "making bad life choices".
Daughter finds a guy to move in with.
Dad apparently doesn't understand what "kicking her out of the house" means, finds out where she is living, kills the guy and tries to kill his daughter.

As much as I think that we should all shoot cops on sight. CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER ... I still agree with this. Out in the wild, the only good cop, is a dead cop.

BUT, until they are charge or/and found guilty, firing them could (and has) lead to massive lawsuits if they are found innocent, or if it is found that someone else committed the crime.

Cops like all other companies/institutions go with the better safe than losing a lawsuit later.

/bet he wont lose his pension ...

she is being held. there is MORE to the story than was reported, or they wouldnt be charging her.
She probably called the cops and lied to the police.
Which is accessory after the fact. Covering up a murder is a felony.

I'm curious to see what she DID to merit an arrest, as she's not obliged to give testimony against her husband. Clamming up was a perfectly legal option for her.

testimony in court is one thing ...
aiding a felon to escape is another thing
helping to locate the vehicle and the weapon can fall under aiding and abetting ...
locking her up keeps her from being able to hide evidence ...

so yah, that is my guess ...
THERE IS NO WAY that they were locking her up "just" to be on the safe side ... when was the last time that cops were that smart?

AND WHY are the local police still on this case?
Talk about serious conflicts of interest.

most of the time things like this are investigated by detectives from outside agencies. neither article said it was being conducted by the agencies they worked for. Only that they were in the cities jail.

Does anybody actually still  believe that he police are anything other than autocratic, steroid jacked thugs who hold themselves above every single law they are paid to enforce?  That they don't just use the badge they were handed to do as they please and collect revenue and live like gangsters?  Do you really?  Do you?  Oh, for all the "one bad apple" apologist - if you are a cop and you know about a bad cop and you do nothing, you are a bad cop.  This system needs and enema, and soon.

We know who all the identifiable violent street gangs are and instead of rounding them up and nailing them to a tree, we do documentaries about it.  Just so long as the street gang on our payroll can get off the hook for any sh*t they pull.  Cause serve and protect.

Those actions are criminal, but she's not obligated to render a statement about her husband at the scene either. Pressing that issue is a rookie mistake.
