I heard the bat boy dropped David Wright's bat onto a ball in the locker room. Does that count?

I think the Mets look pretty good.  Compared to the Phillies.

I tuned in to yesterday's game at exactly the right time. Harper's walk off.

You know what those Mets are, Farkers? They're lollygaggers.

For all that the Mets offense is near the bottom of the bigs in runs scored... at least they aren't as pathetic at scoring runs as the San Diego Padres (363 runs scored thus far this year vs 441 runs scored by the Mets).

With the Braves dropping 8 in a row, I ain't gonna be the one to rip on the Met's lineup.

There is a power outage among a lot of teams this year. I mean detroit absolutely couldn't hit the yankees and thats insane.

The Mets are 11th out of 15 NL teams in scoring.  They're not a good offense, but the Fark obsession with the Mets is a little weird.

The Padres are historically bad at hitting, although they've turned it around a little in the last month.  (For a while, they were threatening the all-time worst team batting average record of .208.  They were hitting .215 a month ago.  Now they're batting a mighty .225!)  They're scoring 3.21 runs/game.  The 29th-best offense (the Cardinals) scores 3.70 runs/game.  The Padres are worst in the majors in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and most other offensive categories.

A little bit of that is Petco, which is one of the toughest places in MLB to hit.  But the Padres also have the worst road offense in baseball, so they don't get to play that card too much.

TL;DR: We should be laughing at the Padres, not the Mets.

Also, here is proof that a Met can hit for extra bases.  Bartolo Colon, at age 41, hit his first double this year.

Mets cut Chris Young, finally.

The Mets aren't even the worst team in their division. They are also not expected to do anything. Why does this thread exist?

There's a thread about how the Mets are bad at hitting.  There are 4 NL teams that are worse, including one that hits like a dead-ball era team.  This is not complicated.

The Padres don't get bonus hype for being in NY or LA, so they get to fly under the radar when they are bad. Plus, their pitching is awesome.

NY teams get extra good press when they are good and extra bad press when they are bad. One comes with the other.

This thread exists because subby used to have season tickets with a parking space at Shea and he lost it all in a baseball strike.

/bitter? A few years later I had Yankee season tickits.. but that's another story
