Sounds like a good idea, but I wonder how well you could aim the spray from "just tearing the corner of the packet"? Are you going to end up with a face full of foam and still have a fire?

I wonder how it tests at the UL. When you get down to it, the described device is a water extinguisher, which has major short comings.

Baking soda (without the vinegar) is better. It absorbs heat and decomposes to release CO2.
