FTFA: Barton also said that she has received death threats since being charged and is currently afraid to leave her home.

Thank you for your donation. I hope you appreciate it, as the crippling joint pain from the Morgellons disease makes it hard to type.

Munchausens by proxy and seeking attention by faking cancer? Low. Understandably, she probably did find a lump, and in that situation anyone would be scared fearless, and would probably mention it to a few people. But when she found it was benign she should have let those people know everything was fine. I sympathise that she was probably scared, but that sympathy dies when she let people keep on worrying about her. A few months ago I found a lump in one of my boobs and I was too terrified to let anyone know. I managed to get it removed without worrying anyone or screwing local churches out of huge amounts of cash.

That's really low. But to subject her kid to that shiatstorm as well?
My wife had cancer, and she was all over getting it removed and medical follow ups were fastidiously abided by.
There  are those that actually do have cancer that can't do anything about it. Whether their poor, or whatever. We don't ask for special treatment, just roll with it. Life goes on. Mostly.
Felony charges are too light. In my opinion, "Old Testament" rules should apply to this. You know, a good maiming. But that's me.

This is why I don't hand money to the homeless on the street, or any other of those flavor of the day causes that you read about in the articles clearly designed to tug at your heartstrings.  There are so many awesome resources for charitable giving these days, it's inconceivable to me that people can still be such rubes.

Have you gotten snipper-kits and stigmotia-ripelows on your belly yet? That's when you know it is bad.

Is that actually zero dollars because she didn't get any suckers?  Or zero because the site is suspending the page pending a review?

I don't know, but probably for review. Gofundme has a policy that the people asking for money through their site must use any funds that are disbursed for their posted need. She specifically posts she will use the funds for a cancer operation. Since that's false, she is in violation of the gofundme policy.

I suppose I could test it by donating a dollar.

fark that.  Too bad there's no way to pledge something other than money.  I'd pledge "A fist in your face and a boot in your babymaker".

Got a friend who has a gofundme that I can't contribute to because I keep going broke -- and she's in real medical need, unlike this coont.  If my friend doesn't make it... Might be time to visit Illinois.

/to volunteer to depose during her penalty phase, if convicted, of course.

Wait, lying to people to get money is illegal? Then why isn't half of DC in jail?

It's so noble of you to mention it without openly asking for money.

I stopped giving money to people at the gas station once I started watching Intervention.

Unless it's a reasonably hot trashy dude. Then I tell him he can earn some cash at my place.

Ah, romance.
