It's a decent show if it wasn't released to damn sporadically. I keep wondering if they just got cancelled or not, since they've only had 6 seasons since 2004.

I feel the same way. Short seasons too. Great and funny characters and writing. shiatty consistency of output. It's as if TOOL had a TV show.

It's because the two writers who do most of the voices also do all the editing.

I'd rather have a little greatness than a lot of mediocrity.

What have YOU done in the last 10 years? Unless its a TV series with more episodes then tell us more about your armchair.

Now if they could just bring back Mary Shelley's Frankenhole and Ugly Americans, that would be awesomesauce.

Does it ever get funny after the first few episodes? I tried watching it on Netflix and I found it to be a snoozefest, but I felt the same way about Trailer Park Boys at first, then it really picked up in the second season and I loved it.

I can understand. It is really well done.

That's not at all a crazy thing to write.

I really wish they'd hire more voice actors. Especially as they keep expanding the cast of secondary characters, it gets a little annoying that everyone sounds the same. It's either "gruff voice" or "gay voice."

skozlaw: Does it ever get funny after the first few episodes?

Actually, it does.  The earliest episodes are little more than Johnny Quest parodies, but by the end of the first season it starts exploring it's ridiculously deep and detailed back-story.  From that point on it's varies between great and amazing.

I don't want to say that you're the wrongest person ever to be wrong about anything in the history of forever, but you might want to check the answer key in the back of the book.

I do want to say it. skozlaw, you're the wrongest person to ever be wrong about anything in the history of forever of being wrongness.

Also, of note, watch the "ghosts of saragasso" episode and try not fall off your couch laughing.

Nobody was a bigger fan of that show for the first two seasons than I was.  Then things gradually began to decline.  Sergeant Hatred was a trainwreck of a character, in my opinion.  He might have been good as a lesser, more-sporadic character, but he couldn't replace the gaping hole left by the absence of Brock.

Then I see this teaser, and it sums up why I think the show declined.  A funny idea, with some funny lines (and I loved the test pattern), but it goes on three or four times longer than it should, and negates most of the funny lines by rehashing them.  And it features three stills, that's it.

I think Hammer and Publick are funny, talented guys; it's just a shame they've had to operate on such an extreme shoestring budget and apparently had difficulties roping in Warburton.

Warburton, Colbert, I hope you feel grateful that I don't rule the universe, because you would work on this show 24/7 if I did.

Frankly, I think Hader does a better Professor Impossible than Colbert did, anyway.

And yes, if they had a bigger budget they'd probably be able to nail a few more of the gags they want to do, but I'm still of the mind that The Venture Bros. is the best show on television.
