Not a bad list.  I'd have ranked the Runaways lower and Repo Man higher though.

Decent list, but it really didn't need to be spread out over 5 pages, did it?

Sid & Nancy might not best the best representation of the Sex Pistols and that punk era in general, but I love that movie. Gary Oldman is incredible and Chloe Webb is hugely underrated in a thankless role. The soundtrack also gave us this song. for which I'll forever be grateful.

Dammit. I meant the vanilla ice movie. Oh well

Damn, that's a pretty weak subgenre when you leave out the documentaries.

Seeing  Rock and Roll High Schoolwhen I was 11 influenced the music I like for the past 22 years.

Nothing says punk like overt page-grabbing for ad rev.

Hmmm... nope. Try some of these in no particular order-
Rude Boy
Brothers of the Head
Dorffpunks
A Clockwork Orange
Romper Stomper
Jubilee
This is England
Hell- Road Warrior was more punk than half that list. Pump Up the Volume? Summer of Sam?!?
Trolly click bait got me.

Also no Dogs in Space or Slacker. Has the article's author even seen more than 10 movies? After seeing Summer of Sam I expected Toy Story 2 to be in top slot...

This is one of the BEST looks into the punk scene and particularly it's influence on post-80's music , especially if you do not appreciate Manchester's role in club and dance music that followed the 'punk' genre. This choice will come as no surprise to UK Farkers, but for Americans that think Lou Reed (and later the Ramones -- who I farking LOVE) were the beginning of the punk music scene. BTW, I am not interested in getting into a dick waving contest on the history of punk or which continent had the biggest punk influence... I'm just telling you, that if you enjoy the music of Joy Division, The Clash,  and New Order like I do, this movie is not only a 'must see'... but is a glowing example of a movie that should have made the fu king list! *

Arguments to the above facts will be met with a safety pin jabbed into your farking eye, mate! Now sod off, you  farking wankers!

I remember reading about a mix-up at the CD manufacturing plant where the soundtrack for Sid & Nancy ended up on CDs that were labeled & packaged as Lawrence Welk tunes. Can only imagine how hard the old farts clutched their chests when they started up their newfangled laser disc record player thingamabobs.

Nothing to do with punk but I gotta say Wild Style is a great introduction to hip hop culture and how it was in the early 80s. I believe it's the first hip hop movie ever. Style Wars is great as well.

Yes. I caught it on late night television once. I can't stand damn joy division (nouvelle vague did the definitive 'love will tear us apart') but this was a great movie.

It was The Wrong Stuff

Haven't seen 'Control', but I've read 'Touching From A Distance'.
Is 'Control' worth watching? I heard Anton Courbin did the whole thing, so I'm guessing so.

I'd say yes.
It's pretty depressing (as you'd expect) but Sam Riley's excellent as Curtis

I liked it, too. Plus, the DVD bonuses include footage of the real band doing "Transmission," which is an awesome f*cking song. . . .

I really enjoyed Control, especially since the actors actually performed all the songs live.
