Her purse had her cell phone and wallet in it, which included $500 cash.

Who carries that much cash around with them? Sounds like a drug deal gone sour.

Bad call.

I do.  But I'm not poor.  Actually, it looks like it's time for a top-up.  Only $470something in there right now.

Or someone too poor to have a bank account.

You might be surprised by how poors are excluded from "normal" society.

Some of us who aren't poor just don't like to go to the ATM a lot.  I'll usually get $400 out at a time (a multi-month supply of cash) and I'll sometimes walk around with a few hundred in my wallet until I get around to stashing most of it in my sock drawer.

If I got robbed and lost $400 I'd be sad, but I essentially just waste cash anyway (bars and small impulse purchases like street food).

/ A fixed amount of cash in your wallet is a great way to set a budget and stick to it when you are too drunk to count money

Or someone who just doesn't like banks.

Or someone going to a titty bar.

Or someone not poor.

Or someone playing poker.

Or someone paying to poke her.

Or someone who cashed their check and went right to the bar.

Or someone who doesn't like handing out the debit/credit card or swiping said card in unknown card readers.

Or someone douchey who just likes flashing money to look cool.

I feel bad for her but at the same time no sympathy. We women go on about equal rights etc, but when this twat got her bag snatched she just sat on her arse expecting the man to be the hero? In the past back in England my handbag was a target twice. Simply, don't let go of the thing and kick the farmer in the face.
PS, what sort of hot date was she thinking of, when the guy introduced ' a friend' ? Giggidy

Thanks for the correction, but the keen observer will have seen me correcting the typo in the next post already ;)

The peeve is the use of the comparative "Than" when what he meant to use was "Then".

Gee, you're right.  I can't count the number of times I've been in a situation where I wish I didn't have some cash handy.  Probably because that's never happened.
