Yeah, give him his walking papers.  He doesn't deserve to be a cop...anywhere.

Recine works as a part-time special police officer earning an hourly wage while collecting a $79,000 annual pension for his retirement as a police officer from Franklin in 2006. Helmetta is a small town of less than 2,200 people known for its police speed trap along the main drag.

Sounds like he's par for the course in that town.

All he'll get is a "we're not going to hire him again" from the town.  I don't know if this would make it harder for him to be a "special officer" in other towns or not.

2014-08-07 05:23:50 PM
So, he'll be suspended with pay.

"In my opinion he was looking for an issue."

Yes he was. And your officer delivered.

It's the old maxim of politics: "All derp is local."

He'll get fired, and rightly so.

Mouthy cop gets caught on tape, news at 11.

And then be demoted upward.

Why does Helmetta have more cops then most towns twice it size? It is a square mile with 2,200 residents, with an abandoned snuff mill in the middle and a general store across the street.

2014-08-07 07:40:45 PM
He resigned today

Helmetta! Should have guessed.

I've now seen more Helmetta stories on Fark (2) than we had traffic lights in town when I lived there (1).

And to follow up, he has resigned.

"No black people allowed"  It's right there in Article Two of the constitution, people!

The guy with the camera was a confrontational douchebag seeking an argument.

What he got instead was an asshole with a badge who shouldn't be allowed within a nuclear mile of any position of authority.

I don't care how provoking the idiot is who is facing you, soon-to-be private security guard Recine, America (even New Jersey) does NOT need police who feel they don't need to respect the Constitution.

Wonder what "Officer" Recine's arrest record and disciplinary jacket looks like....

MaudlinMutantMollusk: He resigned today

Yep - he resigned.  Kind of sickening.  He'll continue to collect $79K for life.  Imagine all the people he's completely screwed over in his position all those years with that shiatty 'I'm above the law' attitude.  Sounds like a nice little corrupt good ol' boy town.

2014-08-07 07:46:13 PM
I bet if you asked this guy "Please give an example of a way in which President Obama has 'decimated' the Constitution", you'd probably either get a variation on "Study it out", or you'd get your ass kicked.  Or both.

2014-08-07 07:47:11 PM
soon-to-fired?

2014-08-07 07:49:12 PM
He get always get a job at the NSA or better yet the TSA where he can stick his thumb into someone's bum and whack until he cums.

2014-08-07 07:49:23 PM
At least he didn't use the old "terrorism" angle

*clicks play*

If that's the basis being set then what's to stop us from killing cops for shiats and grins?  If it's good enough for them it's good enough for us

No. You will get a "Free Speech, Free Speech!" and an argument as to why it proves that Obama is attacking his Constitutional rights.

2014-08-07 07:53:08 PM
At least he's not an unpaid Police Enthusiast, er er I mean "Reserve Officer".  That's the creepiest trend ever.

2014-08-07 07:53:16 PM
I keep hearing about this Obama kid and his "destroying" of our Constitution, but I'll be damned if I can find a single example.

I guess it being true or not is of no consequence to the hill folk. Just the fact that he's black seems to be proof enough to the low-watt droolers like this friggin stump.

Here comes the circlejerk.

Fire him for unprofessional conduct. Nice and simple and obvious. He clearly didn't pay attention to the whole purpose of his job all through out the academy and any job training or experience he has had since. If he's that confused about the basic requirements for being a police officer, it would stand to reason there are other things he just can't figure out.

 FTA :

she and her husband were at the municipal building to file public record requests.

The couple have been campaigning for reform at the borough animal shelter, which they said gave them an underage and sick puppy that cost them thousands of dollars in veterinarian bills.

"We wanted them to pay for the medical bills."

"Them", is the local taxpayers.  Pull the plug on this dog already.  You got a dud and it's time to move on.

Fired? Unlikely. This little piggie will receive a paid vacation while the department takes a year or so to "investigate" before quietly putting him back on the beat.

/when that happens, we'll know that there are no good cops on that force

We will soon find out, when everyone he has ever arrested shows up back in court, leading a pack of baying, snarling attorneys.

Obama has decimated the Constitution? Where were these complaining people when Dubya, Cheney, rumsfeld, etc were doing their hatchet job on the Constitution, and as the NSA is doing so now? And furthermore, as far as I can tell the Republican Congressmen aren't really letting Obama accomplish much.

BTW - did this guy specify which 1/10 of the Constitution Obama removed?
Or did he just line up all the articles and amendments and scratch every tenth one?

I honestly thought this practice of making up fake laws using 9/11 as an excuse died out years ago.  It used to be extremely popular  to do illegal searches and confiscating cameras for people filming trains and planes at airports and using "9/11" as a backdrop for quoting laws that don't even exist.

I doubt he'll be back.  He was just doing this for fun and as a side gig to supplement his meager $1500.00/week pension.

I'm guessing he lands at Home Depot in the home and garden department, regaling his coworkers in the break room with his cop stories from over the years, up to and including the time Obama basically got him canned from his last assignment.

According to the Star Ledger, this badge-thug resigned today.  No matter, he's got his $80K pension, and 100% paid medical, dental, vision for life.    The PBA Good Ol' Boys Employment Agency will find him another public sector gig tout de suite.  A few weeks from now he will be ignoring the constitution as zoning officer, public safety director, truant officer,  health inspector, or dog catcher.  Despite all the rhetoric about how they hate government, real Muricans, like Recine, will never stop swilling at the public trough.

I foresee a lawsuit from the officer in the near future. He was recorded without his consent, which as a servant of the people, is a serious violation of his rights.  Brandishing the recording in the attempt to shame/discredit him shows malice.  He was right to resign as the so called "paid vacation" is not applicable in this case.  He is looking forward to a huge payday.
