How can you be sure?  If you were a Texas gay marriage opponent member of Nickelback, would you admit it?

Texas Values is just plain out and out lying about support for anti-gay marriage legislation in Texas?

Claims it's 76% today but that's based that on 10 year old stats and disingenuous stats at that.

What are the real numbers?

According to a new poll from Texas Tech University, slightly more Texans now support marriage equality in the state than oppose it.

In an independent  <a data-cke-saved-href="http://www.newswise.com/articles/texas-tech-surve y-abbott-to-win-texas -governor-voter-id-law-didn-t-cause-problems-and-texans-split-on-gay-m arriage" target="_self" sl-processed="1" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: rgb(226, 22, 56); text-decoration: none; line-height: inherit;" >survey conducted="" by="" the="" texas="" tech's="" earl="" survey="" research="" lab,="" students="" found="" that="" 48="" percent="" of="" respondents="" supported="" marriage="" equality="" while="" only="" 47="" percent

I don't know, I think he threw away whatever rock star life he had by settling down with Avril Lavigne, who seems like a miserable, rude person through and through. And I bet she just lays there like a dead fish playing with her iPhone during sex.

With same-sex marriage now legal in several other nations and in several states, defending a state ban on same-sex marriage should be easy.

If the arguments and positions of same-sex marriage opponents are rationally justified and intellectually honest, same-sex marriage should already have resulted in statistically significant harm in at least some of the nations and states where same-sex marriages are recognized, particularly those states and nations where such unions have been legal for the longest period of time.

Those defending existing state bans on same-sex marriage therefore need only cite this pattern of harm, which must exist if opposing same-sex marriage is rational, to show that the existing ban serves the common good and thus should remain in place.

I cannot comprehend why, thus far, absolutely no state has done so when defending a ban on same-sex marriage. Instead, they have relied upon speculation without presenting any past data to show how this speculation is justified.

The Texas Tech poll surveyed 454 registered voters from March 6 to April 3.

So some poli-sci Texas Tech undergrads polled less than 500 people for their coursework in a poll that covered a variety of topics and now Texas favors gay marriage?

You will forgive me if I am unconvinced.
