(The Hill)   Democrats talk about impeachment 20 times more than the GOP. See if you can spot the difference: "I say, those rufffians want to impeach the black guy. How gosh" and "OMG WE MUST IMPEACH BECAUSE WE DIDN'T WIN"   (thehill.com) divider line 131

Bush should have been impeached on the grounds that his brothe Jeb tampered with the votes in Flordia, and therefore creating an election fraud (and Jeb himself should have been removed as Gov. on the same grounds)

according to shiatty conservative blog that won't stop talking about how dems won't stop talking about impeachment.

Congressional Democrats have talked about the impeachment of President Obama 20 times more than Republicans have on the House and Senate floors.

Hmm, and how many republicans talked about impeachment out in public?

Yep. The GOP reps are mouthing off about impeachment back home to their constituents.

2014-08-07 08:56:04 AM
I thought what the Dems were trying to do was basically telling the GOP, "Come at me bro".

there any actual proof of this, or do you only have hearsay and conjecture (those are TYPES of evidence)

2014-08-07 09:14:08 AM
Well the good thing is that now they can't really go through with impeachment anymore at this point. After all this talk the blowback would be pretty hard, even after the election.

That was rather pretty of you to punt that out.

It's called "rallying the base".  Kind of like the "Obama is comin' fer yer guns" shtick the GOP pulls.

No, Bush should have been impeached on the grounds that he lied to the America people, ginned up an excuse for an unnecessary war, and sent thousands of Americans to die so his cronies could collect a big payday. That is what you call a "high crime." He also incompetently failed to protect the country on 9/11, resulting in thousands more unnecessary deaths and massive economic losses. That is, charitably, a misdemeanor.

2014-08-07 09:32:35 AM
Then perhaps folks should stop giving Democrats something to talk about?

Just a thought.

What folks are upset about is that the plan backfired. Rather than fire up their own base, it's become its own thing, and it might actually serve to fire up their opponents' base.

So, you've got a high crime and *one* misdemeanor, the Constitution clearly states there needs to be misdemeanors.

Check and mate, libtardo.

Hahahahaha.  You actually believe that? OMG...that's hilarious.

The republican base doens't have internal consistancy or long term memory.  It's not like they'll remember that the GOP claimed they had no intention to impeach.

The Clinton impeachment conclusively proves that it's the democrats who are obsessed with impeaching their political opponent president for stupid reasons.

2014-08-07 09:37:00 AM
Finally Dems have figured out hijacking words can be thrilling.

Not that Christian, Moral Majority, Tea Party, Family Values, Value Voters, Patriot, Pro-Life, Compassionate Conservative have all been languishing under a rule that only GOP dementors get to change and own common words pervert their meaning after sucking the life out.

So what does the base do when the impeachment they've been promised for 6 years doesn't happen, and the ridiculous lawsuit quietly disappears?

Oh, that's right.  "Blame Obama".  I forgot; I had it written down on my hand.

2014-08-07 09:39:34 AM
Also, have no doubt that the ONLY reason the house GOP hasn't filed articles of impeachment against Obama yet is because they know it would be extremely unpopular with the public.

Hell, this is the party that almost caused national default for absolutely no reason except "fark the president, that's why."  I have no doubt they would impeach Obama for every bullshiat reason they can think of if they thought it would get them votes.

They'll do what they always do - watch foxnews and keep blaming "liberals" for everything wrong in the country, then rationalize voting against their own best interests for the GOP in the next election cycle.

I always forget that there are some very lovely passages - from a literary standpoint - in The Bible.

I was in line at the grocery store, and I glanced at one of those crappy tabloids, like Enquirer or whatever. Right in the top right-hand corner, there was a headline that read, "Should Obama be impeached! Vote inside!"

Until I read this article, I had no idea that the Enquirer-type rags were written by Democrats for a largely liberal-left reading audience. I feel like I've been truly infromed today.

Hey, if farking Kansas can figure it out, I have hope for the rest of the red states.  I just want to see the damage minimized at the national level (because the only thing that made Kansas learn a damn thing was having their state run into the farking ground).

HA HA HA OH WOW.

Since the start of the 113th Congress last year, Democrats have used the word "impeach" or "impeachment" regarding Obama 86 times, according to a review of the Congressional Record by The Hill.

This is almost as rich as the notion that liberals are the real racists for talking about racism.

Yes... like when they had the headline "Pervy Prez Busted" for looking at young girls chest.  They were secretly promoting Obama to the Pervy voting block.

You forgot his warrantless wiretaps. The current state of data collection/privacy is nothing to crow about, but at least it has the FISA court fig leaf. W bypassed the court and said he could listen to your international calls and no dern court was going to stop him - link

I wonder why the Tea Party didn't spring up right there and then? Such an abrogation of the separation of powers and civil liberty violations must have really pissed off those Constitutional purists....not mention all the debt that was building up. Hmmmm, very strange.

Stupid LIEbrals. It's the same with rape. For every 10 or so guys we have saying that rape is usually a woman's fault, and the sluts wouldn't get pregnant is she didn't really want it, there are at least 100 communo-fascist-lefties screaming, "RAPE, RAPE, that guys just said something offensive about RAPE!" They talk about rape a lot more often than we do!
