(Deadline)   James Van Der Beek, whose last two shows were given swift, merciful cancellations, is joining the cast of CSI: Cyber, which sounds like something goth teenagers were into back in the late 90s   (deadline.com) divider line 49

I liked Don't Trust... However, I'm tired of the endless spinoffs on TV. That includes some cable channels, as it appears TNT is spinning off Major Crimes.

Meanwhile, we get summer piffle, like Taxi Brooklyn.

Which is a shame since the shows were not bad at all. Particularly the Don't trust the biatch. That was a great show and yet 2BrokeGirls is still going.

JvdB doesn't do well on the animated side, either.

It's a shame - he was following the NPH playbook - child star, disappear, come back by making fun of yourself, land new sitcom, get outted, become megastar

He should have worked on getting outed if his plan was going to succeed

People just love to forget that he helped make Married with Children... a massive hit* and was on it for damn near a decade longer than the guy he replaced.

*Steve was a fun enough character, but they hadn't figured out how over the top to make the show when he was on

I watched that show, and he really stood out. I didn't know who he was (no, really, I didn't even know he was the crying guy around here), but I thought he was really funny. I hope he finds some outlet for his talents. Maybe he doesn't have a LOT of talents, but he was good in that sitcom.

Ah, CBS is keeping up with the times. To go with their shows about how police and the military need all the powers and freedoms they can get (yours specifically) to catch THE BAD GUYS, now we've got a show to make old people scared of the internet to ensure that SOPA passes next time. Yay!

I have to admit, I really didn't think I'd like Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, but I'm watching it on Netflix now and I really like it.  Perhaps this is one that could get picked up again by another network as that seems to be a thing that can sometimes happen nowadays, but I'm not really holding my breath.  Either way JVDB was actually really funny on the show.  It made me like him a hell of a lot more than when he was on Dawson which is funny since he was a total dick on the show.  The show just has a charm to it.

Dude.

It's a sitcom. They're all farking stupid.  No one has ever looked at one and said 'man, that is the pinnacle of intelligence and we should be it to aliens'.

People who get off on telling sitcom viewers 'they're retarded' or some variation thereof really just need a hobby. People like what they like, and it's not harming me, so what the fark do I care?

I watched it on Netflix just because Krysten Ritter was in it, and anything vaguely related to Breaking Bad was on my list at the time.  Wasn't expecting much, but it was pleasantly surprised.   Too bad it got cancelled, seems to have all the right ingredients for a hit.

I'm also a big fan of Better Off Ted - I actually watched it when it was on the air, changing timeslots every other week - and that's on netflix as well, catch that.

Shows I like tend to get cancelled...

/yes, Sarah Connor Chronicles too
