how much does sarah palin make a year? what does she do?

oh - that's right; only republicans are allowed to make money.

$250k for teaching at the most prestigious school in the Cal-uni system in one of the most expensive areas in the country. Yeah what a gross inequality.

Professors do more than just teach classes. I realize college is for the gays, but if you scream "NO HOMO" after doing a little research I'm sure you'll be fine.

Good on him for teaching at least one.

submitter since your entire college experience seems to be derived from half a semester giving handjobs in the bathroom of a junior college with compass points in the name you may want to shut the fark up rather than write a headline that indicates you don't know anything about the topic.

OMG LOL!

1. Because teaching classes is the only thing professors at prestigious Universities do.

2. Because a highly qualified- former cabinet member in the San Francisco Bay area should make $46,000 per year.

3. Because... Oh Fark it. Its the Daily Caller. Why am I even wasting my time with this?

Conservative logic:

Al Gore says "conserve water"

But Al Gore takes showers!

Al Gore is a hypocrit and I am going to leave my sprinklers on until the well runs dry, just to stick it to the Libs!

Are there any stats out there for how many classes tenured professors teach?

He's not paid to teach the class.

All true, not to mention that TFA notes that it's only for the fall semester that he's teaching a single class, and is back to teaching four classes in the spring semester.

Also, as far as I can tell, Condi Rice teaches only one class per year at Stanford, and as a member of the Cabinet for a former president (as Reich is), I have to assume that she's on the upper end of a the pay scale as compared to other professors at her university--and Stanford's average professor salary is higher than Berkeley's (about $190K versus about $150K).  I wonder why The Daily Caller isn't biatching about that? (Not that they should, of course--any university would be happy to have pay for the prestige of having a noted former key White House advisor and cabinet member on its faculty, whether that happens to be Rice or Reich.)

2014-08-06 03:28:17 PM
A professor's salary and the number of classes he/she teaches have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

/professor

2014-08-06 03:39:12 PM
For that sweet salary of $20,217 per month, Reich is slated to teach exactly one course this fall.

He will teach a more normal course load of four courses during the spring 2014 semester, notes EAGnews

This is an outrage?

Daily Dullard's lame concern trolling about the poor is laughable in light of their normal "Fark the Poor/I got mine" content.

Being close to $250,000?  That's not the inequality we are speaking of.

We're talking about the guys and companies worth billions asking for more tax cuts and deregulation so they can siphon off even more wealth from everyone else.

Ignoring Reich's income for a second...

Why is it that folks on the right think that a single datum invalidates an entire model?  "It's snowing, therefor climate change is bunk!", "A Leftie makes a lot of money, therefor income inequality is OK!", "The poor have refridgerators, therefor the social safety net isn't required!"

Fer fark sake, what tiny minds they have.  How do they remember to breathe?

Look, dumbassmitter, somebody like Robert Reich making $250,000 a year is not even a minor issue that causes income inequality. The issues with income inequality revolve more around how much money the top 0.01% (and the top 400 moreso) are making. For example, Stephen Schwarzman, the CEO of Blackstone, made $465,400,000 in 2013. THAT is where the problem resides.

2014-08-06 03:59:40 PM
In response to a question as to what to recommend to the incoming president regarding a fair and sustainable income and wealth distribution, Reich said, "Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit - a wage supplement for lower-income people, and finance it with a higher marginal income tax on the top five percent. For the longer term, invest in education for lower income communities, starting with early-childhood education and extending all the way up to better access to post-secondary education."

So he supports taxing himself more. What's the problem? You can be rich and still want to combat income inequality.

Ha ha! They really showed us, yep. DC found a librul elitist who's not on welfare so I guess that means Sarah Palin is automatically prez'dent, and Fartbongo Hussein gets sent back to Kenya.

Suck it, libtards!

To be fair, they keep hearing that $250K is the break point between rich and not rich.

I support taxing myself more. The current level of income inequality is reducing the rate at which my investments grow. A slightly higher tax would result in my having a LOT more money come retirement time in 20 years.

so, some ba liberal arts major (economics) is supposed to be more desirable than a person with a doctorate (jd)?

Why is making that much a problem?  That doesn't seem like an obnoxious amount for a CEO of a major investment firm.
