6 months, 18,000 nautical miles, that means an average speed of 4.11 knots, or just under five miles per hour. What a slow ship. Even the gigantic cruise ship I went on this summer did 22.5 knots. Sails suck.

FTA : " Police were alerted to the drugs after the US authorities arrested two Colombians suspected of obtaining 20kg of cocaine from the sailors during a visit to New York in May. "

If you have a shipment that big you don't go and do something stupid like selling coke to Colombians in New York.

Though isn't that like selling ice to Eskimos in Florida?

That probably includes several week-long stops in ports.

A lady that I know just came from Majorca, Spain. She smiled because I did not understand. Then she held out a 10 pound bag of cocaine. She said it was the finest in the land.
