Howard Webb is retiring? That explains why my Liverpool-supporting friends are smiling today.

And we're at three FFPL sign-ups already. I say we close it there and guarantee ourselves a podium finish each.

Noooooooooooo

I have now ruined your plans. On the upside, I have a 25% chance of a top-place finish.

Oh, who the hell am I kidding. I'll start strong, then fade to crap after Christmas. Just like the f*cking Gunners.

A true gentleman and a scholar of the game.  His work will be missed.  One of the best officials in recent history.

As bad as I suck at fantasy leagues, do I get relegated if I'm in the bottom 4?

No, but I intend to also run a parallel elimination league where the lowest score of the round would be hoicked out until we're left with the winner.

Don't worry about your level of knowledge. FFPL is a mechanism to learn.

To celebrate Mr. Webb's retirement, and the consequent reversal of Liverpool's fortunes, count me in the FFPL.  Gonna take the time to register after work.

Fergie retired. Webb no longer had a need to officiate.

You're going to have to go some to challenge my track record of abject mediocrity. My strategy for this season may involve a trained seal and a dartboard.

I'm back for another season of midtable work, where I start promisingly, have a batch of horrifying weeks, only to recover wonderfully at the end. Just like 2013-2014 Swansea.

And in the most important news, Zenit could be knocked out of the Champions League today by the second-best club in Cyprus.

I'm back in the FFPL, repping for the MIGHTY Oxford United once more.

I'm still mad that they got rid of the Insurance/ Banker double. It was often the proper strategic play.

"Spurs are playing West Ham. They should win 2-0. Book it, done."
"Which game is most likely to be an upset?"
"That would be Spurs."

That made me laugh out loud. So true.

FFPL now in double figures.

I wonder if we'll match the WC mini-season wrt numbers? My instinct sez not quite.

...which is pretty funny after all the whining from their manager  that they are too big a club to have to go through qualifying.

Well, I'm debating whether or not to take part in this year's FFPL has I will not have the time to dedicate to watching the EPL this season due to school work plus a possible promotion to a full time position at my job (fingers crossed). However, I do have something to contribute and that is this:

1st Annual Fark Association Football Fandom Survey.

It's basically a survey of who do you root for, who do you hate and some basic opinion questions. It's a long survey, but there's only 7 required questions.

There's also a link on my profile should you want it.

Jesus, this comes just one year after Man U lost Own Goal on a free transfer. Terrible blow for them.

Seriously though,is there a Fark fantasy league under the official EPL fantasy game?

I take offence to there being a mockery for "Other La Liga champion," but not for Serie A.

Damned right! Though seeing as they're still circling around League Two, it'd be a minimum of three farking amazing seasons for that to happen.

Right now, it's Juventus & Co. And unlike the years where Real & Barcelona dominated, they aren't doing a thing internationally. Juve, their champion, got to the EL semifinals, after getting bumped out of their CL group by Real and Galatasaray. And we all know what happened to poor AC Milan.

I had to miss the last FFPL since I was working on the road last year with inconsistent internet access, I might be travelling again some this one for work but it would be in civilazation, so I guess I'll give it a go, did allright the first year as I remember (almost positive I was like mid first page, maybe 5th or 6th?)

2014-08-06 03:15:26 PM
Also, why does Swansea have to face Man United first again? Last time, they got steamrolled 4-1. It's probably going to be just as bad now.

That might well have been the high point of David Whatshisname's reign.

I will admit, it took me a moment to figure out the joke; I honestly thought that was his family.  Insert joke about English pretty here.

Well then, they can focus on winning the Scottish league by 30+ points again.

Yeah, I don't see that happening.  I didn't see where I finished for the WC, but I was still on the front page, so I'm going to give the EPL a run to see if my rank amateurism holds up. :P
