Well, he is used to strokes on the golf course during playoff season.

Between this and Mason's injury, this year is not exactly starting off as I had hoped.

Do like the del zotto pickup though for some reason, that and the fact that I do not have to travel 100 miles to see Flyers minor league hockey kinda makes me happy (they just picked up the Reading Royals as their ECHL team)

If you were hoping for more than barely make the playoffs, your expectations are not aligned with reality... not atypical Flyers fan behavior.

This Flyers team is average at best, and will be for at least a couple of years.

Sucks for Kimmo. He was a great veteran presence but this is likely the end of his career.

DVT in the leg hurts like hell, PE is even less fun.    He's probably out at least 6 months unless he gets cleared to play while on Warfarin which I highly doubt since the chance on internal bleeding from a hit would skyrocket.

If not the end of his life. Holy shiat.

Nah, lower leg DVT is very very very rarely fatal and certainly not in an athlete (if he were 80 and bedridden, maybe).   Hurts like hell but the clots are small and sometimes don't even burst when they get to the lungs (which his might not have).

Clots in the upper leg/groin or in the arteries in the neck are the ones you need to worry the most about, then you're talking full blowout of the lungs if not the heart valves or a massive stroke/embolism in the brain.

Also, wear compression socks when flying.

That'll pass after the 10th odd man rush he gives up by pinching for no apparent reason, which will probably be within the first week.

Clots like this can be a sign of cancer somewhere in the body.

Great? Nope your right it is years away at best.
5 seed is what I am aiming for I think that is about right. Not horrible and not great, just average.

Maybe I am thinking about someone else...I read an article on available defensemen and his name, at the very least, stuck out.

It was him:  http://fansided.com/2014/08/04/nhl-free-agency-players-still-availabl e /#!bxmASw

The guy is still young and has a chance to get back to where he was (+20 40ish points). Maybe Morris would be the better choice just from a leadership perspective but I never really liked Morris.

You see when a mommy clot and a daddy clot really love each other...

Can be yes, but these guys typically fly a lot, and the Euros are routinely doing trans atlantic flights.   Tomas Fleischmann developed DVT from it as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom%C3%A1%C5%A1_Fleischmann

Since I'm guessing he's a non smoker who isn't on birth control, the next best guess is DVT from hours of sitting in a confined space. That  could be coupled with a hypercoagulation disorder, but I'd wager it's not as the amount of hitting these guys do he'd probably have developed some sort of clot earlier from a disorder.

Poor Flyers. This season has crashed even before it's started.
