The Romney campaign already openly embraced outright lying as a campaign strategy.  Now Paul's taking it to the next level and going full-Ministry of Truth.

THIS.

Plus, we shouldn't lose heart.  Paul is sure to do or say boneheaded things again which he'll also run away from.  For a fan of greed, he's a real giver that way.

Rand Paul is an opportunistic pig. I'd love to see him in a real life "The Game".

/I think that's the movie I'm thinking of

I want Rand to get the 2016 nomination just so in the debates Hilary can randomly yell "Look! Behind you! A Hispanic teenager!" and we can watch Rand shriek and scamper away in terror.

He's provided ample fodder for an opponent to campaign against, using his own words.

Hey: why mess with success?  Well... success in getting the GOP nomination, that is.  Romney rode that all the way through a ridiculous primary season, pretending that he was never the governor of Massachusetts and certainly not the forefather of Obamacare nor the one that signed a sweeping state assault weapons ban into place.

The next time someone asks him why, for instance, he had a staunch neo-Confederate in Jack Hunter as a foreign policy and social media adviser, he can just say that it never happened.  And people will eat it up.

The scary thing is that of all the potential GOP contenders, Rand Paul is one of the least crazy. He is far from the worst that the GOP has to offer.

So much as hint that as President you wouldn't be on your knees to pleasure Israel in every way possible and the knives will come out.  This is just the beginning of the inevitable death by a 1000 cuts that we're going to see until he gets the hint that he has been voted off the island.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, there's no question you're in Iowa. That beautiful cornfield behind you. And there's a video that's gone somewhat viral among the media, at least, in which you're sitting, having lunch with Congressman King, and suddenly some young person comes up to him and says the person's a DREAMER and engages in sort of a controversial conversation with Congressman King about being a DREAMER. You shake the hand and then you're seen getting up after you have a bite of your hamburger and then getting your drink, as though you're tying to get away. What's the explanation for this video?

PAUL: Now you know my life. You know my life on the campaign trail. But about five minutes before that, or two minutes before that, the video doesn't show that another reporter came up and said, will you do an interview. And I said, I need to take a couple more bites and we'll do an interview. And then I was told we had to leave and I had to do the interview, so actually, I stood 10 feet from the people who were doing sort of a kamikaze interview, and I stood 10 feet from them and did another interview. You know me. I've always done an interview on immigration. I'm very open to discussing that I think there should be some kind of immigration reform.

That might be the Rosetta Stone for Rand Paul.  I think Steve King is a true believer of his derp, which is why he attempted to intimidate, talk over, and dismiss the young lady who engaged him in conversation.

Rand, on the other hand knows that the anti-immigration bullshiat is actually bullshiat and that 9 times out of 10, a young, intelligent, well spoken illegal immigrant who is just as American as anyone else accosting you on your shiatty policy is going to end badly for you.

He's an opportunistic candidate, not a true believer.  Which is more dangerous because they have SOME self awareness that they still have to be palatable to the center of the political spectrum to win.

I'm no Paul fan (either of them), though I embrace the teatard hijacking of the (R) party. While it's not immediately the most pragmatic movement it may evolve into something down the road. For better or worse both these parties need shook up.

That said, I think there is a huge difference between a veteran flip-flopping on all their stances in the period of just a couple years and what (in Paul's case) can legitimately be considered the adolescence of a political career.

Do I think Paul is full of shiat? Most likely. But it's hardly comparable to Romney and definitely not of a worse degree.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: I want Rand to get the 2016 nomination just so in the debates Hilary can randomly yell "Look! Behind you! A Hispanic teenager!" and we can watch Rand shriek and scamper away in terror.

I have to give the guy credit for being idealistic enough to actually voice his opinions early on. I know most people heard him denouncing civil rights act and marked him with the racist pen; but fact is he was simply being honest about his libertarian roots.. trying to show that in that example and many others, he feels these are social mechanics that shouldn't be dictated by Federal law.

I don't happen to agree with that, but I can at least understand it.

And let's not forget there are simply some issues you must be flexible on if you ever want to get anything done, even if you can secure the office to begin with. I'm not sure where the ideal came from that a politician should be completely static in stance or they're weak or full of shiat. I'd rather a guy that himself was against immigration but was willing to put pen to a bill that supports it than a guy so farking obstinate and short sighted that he'll stomp his feet to stop the will of the majority/nation/party/whatever.

You can say that again. As far as crazy conservatives that might end up on the stage go;
if give me Cruz, Romney, Santorum, Bachmann.. I'll take Hillary every time.
After that? Probably Fat Bastard and the Ghost of Jack Kemp.
But after that I'll take Paul every time!

This time around it won't be a Sam Adams and some Bushmills the night of the election.  It'll be a Dalmore 15-year and Guinness Extra Stout to wash down bluefish pate' and crackers as I watch the loop of Karl Rove from four years earlier looking like a deer in the headlights on a highlight reel put together by MSNBC shown a half hour after they call it.

I agree. He is going to the Romney trail. Say things to one group that they will take one way and then say things to another group they will take the other way and hope no one watches the videos that shows he is playing both sides.
