BalugaJoe: What is show about?

It's a story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together...

If they can't afford to have the cast together in most of the episodes, they really shouldn't bother.  Or they could recast, I guess.

Look, they already had to ditch Barry Zuckercorn in favor of Bob Loblaw. And that's the same criticism you used against F*ck Mountain.

Don't bother, Netflix. S4 was a steaming pile of crap that actually abruptly stopped me watching reruns of S1-3. I used to drag out the box set every 3 months or so. Can't watch it again as S4 somehow ruined the first 3 seasons.

Just like Fark's collection of Joe Biden memes, this show also had a primetime and needs to die out.

It should have died long ago. Season 3 ended it.

What dragged it down for me was the focus on 1 character in an episode thing they tried.   Overall it was a weak season, though there were a few good moments.

It's not THAT bad.  It's just weaker in comparison to the other seasons since each episode focuses on a different character rather than it being an ensemble.  Some of the episodes aren't that great but some (the Gob ones in particular) are fantastic.

Also, Portia De Rossi's plastic surgery makes her look like she's wearing a Halloween mask of her old face.

It was ok but not amazing I thought. Clearly it was mostly if not all set up for something in the future. That said there were a run of epiosdes in the middle of the season (the Lucille one, the second Gob one, the Maeby one and the George Michael one) that were just hilarious.

What's netflix, 7 bucks a month?  That's cheaper than a crap movie in the theatre.  Season 4 is different, but SOLID (IMHO), and I've watched it twice.  And, netflix has Orange is the New Black!

Pretty much this.

Also House of Cards.

Netflix doesn't always have the latest movies right after they finish at the box office and they tend to lag a season on current non-Netflix series but it's some of the best (legal) value for money TV entertainment out there.

This the only comedy show that I have ever watched where it was funnier the second time.

Season 4 was totally solid. Not as good as season 3, yet easily as good as 1. The real difference is that they don;t jump from character to character. Each episode primarily focuses on one character. It's a different vibe. Yet by the last 3 to 4 episodes it's payoff after payoff after payoff after payoff on the jokes. I was pleased.

This. It was a different style and the start was a bit slow as the first half of the series spent a lot of time setting up jokes for the second half, but that made for a great second half of the series.

There is a simple and tried solution if the cast won't or can't come back - Arrested Development Babies.

Yeah, that. It took about three episodes to hit its stride, and I'd much prefer them to have all the characters together instead of focusing them all on one character at a time, but overall it was a pretty good season.

The George Maharis stuff was gold.

Also more Tobias.

"Is there a little girl here all by herself? Daddy needs to get his rocks off!"
"I want to show her Daddy's Thing."
"I met her at the Method One Acting Clinic."

Lots of good mileage out of that fantastic four stuff.

Get rid of Rogan and Wiig. They were awful and I cannot fathom why it was thought that they resembled a young George and Lucille in any way. Other than that, I was pretty pleased with the season overall. It was definitely different than what we were used to, but that's not such a bad thing, and some of the episodes were legitimately funny.

It was just stunt casting.

Think about it this way. You, as a fan of Season 4 of Arrested Development, praised it by saying that "some of the episodes were legitimately funny." That's seriously lowering the bar compared to the original series.

They had to do Season 4 differently because of all of the actors schedules they had to shoot around. Over all it was a funny season with a lot of jokes on slow burn that payed off big. And many just quick jokes that were smart and funny. "Lets get you back on the horse." "Even BETTER!" Maybe not my favorite season but it was well worth the time. I would definately tell someone to what the heck sign up for a month of Netflix watch it, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black and then cancle it if you want but it would not be a waste of money.

I watched it a second time.  It's far funnier the second time, because there's a ton of jokes where the punchline is in the earlier episode, while the setup is in a later episode, so the first time you don't get that there's a joke.

Me. I couldn't get my head around the overarching story arc at first, and once things started to click into place in the last few episodes, I realized how much I had missed. I still don't care for the second Gob episode and a fair bit of the Lucille, Buster, and George storylines (but I laugh every time at the Heartfire bits, God help me), but I could watch most of the Michael/George Michael/Maeby ones a hundred times.

I feel the exact same way. Haven't watched it since 2013, and I used to  put on an episode regularly when I had a bit of time to kill.
