I'm good.  We had a holiday here yesterday, so today was my Monday.  Got a small turkey in the oven (I thawed it to cook yesterday, but it didn't completely thaw until today), so dinner should be good - if late.

2014-08-05 09:15:27 PM
Speaking of green, had Bamia for dinner:

Bamia would normally have lamb, but this one had local beef.  Mmm.  and coriander, onion, garlic, tomato paste, and of course okra, lemon juice, mint.  salt, pepper.   Don't look at the following picture

have you tried InstantWatcher?  It is an app that lets you see lots more Netflix movies than you would normally see on their screen, and even will put the selected ones in your watch list if you let it.

I used it once, and was pretty happy with it.  It found a decent movie I had never hear of before, think it was The Numbers Station.

Sorry - got busy there.

Heritage Day.  In Canada, every month has at least 1 statutory holiday.  The August long weekend (that's what Canadians call it - the [month] long weekend, rarely by name) is the "Civic Holiday" - each province names it, or cities can name it for something significant, too.  According to my sources, it's called Regatta Day in Newfoundland, Saskatchewan Day in SK, British Columbia Day in BC, Natal Day in Nova Scotia and PEI, Simcoe Day in Toronto, New Brunswick Day in New Brunswick,Colonel By Day in Ottawa, Heritage Day in Alberta, Joseph Brant Day in Burlington, ON, and Benjamin Vaughan day in the City of Vaughan, Ontario.

If I understand correctly, then, there is a free long weekend in every month, at least.

Yep!  13 statutory holidays a year, in my case.  If I ever do go back to the States, I will sorely miss an August holiday.
