fusillade762: The reminder of the main property includes a dining room to seat 16 peopleDoes that word mean something different in British?
lenfromak: Not a bad price, actually, for what I see in the photos. But, the taxes must suck.

GreenAdder: I thought it was signed on a table, or maybe a desk. A whole island for one document seems a little excessive.
Spiralmonkey: lenfromak: Not a bad price, actually, for what I see in the photos. But, the taxes must suck.It will be whatever the local council tax is, but it would be around £1300 per year. Not an exact figure but close enough.
chrylis: GreenAdder: I thought it was signed on a table, or maybe a desk. A whole island for one document seems a little excessive.Wasn't actually signed at all; John was illiterate.
Target Builder: lenfromak: Not a bad price, actually, for what I see in the photos. But, the taxes must suck.Probably less than you might think - UK property taxes are by "band" and top out at about $5000/year regardless of how expensive a property is.Inheritance taxes, OTOH, are pretty brutal and kick in at somewhere around $400,000.

Then I'd advertise it as an American culture museum and offer tours for the lulz.
