Bronies are the only fannish subculture that makes me purse my lips and say "Whatever, dudes".
And this coming from a man who's played in Official D&D Tournament leagues for YEARS.

That said:  I have no issues with them whatsover, and its obvious that the person who wrote this didn't
bother to do anything but look up online furry porn.  Its insulting, frankly.

So, what, they're mad that Rule 34 exists? I feel like I see this article every so often, as if it's a person traversing the internet past their social media networks for the first time.

People like this can deal with it, I just feel bad for the child voice actors that get brought into those conventions.

//shiat, I just did "think of the children" anyway
///Hypocritical

OP  is sexist.

Says that MLP is only for little girls. Not little boys too. Don't try and womansplain that away.

/Bronies aren't a threat to children. They are too socially inept to interact with a child.
//If you don't want your child finding porn on the internet, watch your kid on the computer, and enable some safe search stuff.

That's generalization and stereotyping. Projection is when you incorrectly perceive others to have a flaw which you actually have yourself and fail to realize. There's a lot of overlap with hypocrisy.

Hey, who let them run plays from the feminist playbook? That's not fair!

TFA: "link on their vendor profile on the BronyCon website leads to this personal Tumblr, which links"

Degrees of Kevin Bacon does not constitute factual evidence. I'll bet I could find porn in a 4th-level link of a link of a link of a link in a search of your name too. It is an unfortunate property of the internet as a whole. I don't see what TFA expects anyone to do about it beyond a generic "you must stop this from happening"; as if there were a switch that could be thrown that would make everyone on the internet behave themselves.

I guess it's good the article's author is unfamiliar with fluffies.

NSFW: http://www.buzzfeed.com/katienotopoulos/the-terrifyingly-violent-new- g enre-of-my-little-pony-fan-art

Just a few days ago, I found my 7 year old daughter googling MLP stuff.  Apparently, my wife and/or her father taught her how to do this.  Both of them are oblivious to MLP culture on the internet.

My two cents?  There are guys who like the show "Bronies", and there are guys who like to mock/troll "Brony" culture.  Brony culture is rife with metahumor.  The "fluffies" and other disturbing MLP things are meta-metahumor....  and the author completely misses this point and basically got pwned by it.

Would I normally give a shiat if I didn't have kids?  No.

Am I mildly concerned that my daughter may stuble upon MLP-related things I don't want her to see?  Yes.

Who's responsible to keep my kid from seeing these things?  I am, and I use DD-WRT.  I am the traffic cop.

There is enough reason to mock furries without confusing all Bronies with them... and outside of making snarky comments in a Fark thread, doing one thing to hassle either furries or Bronies IRL is pretty lame and sad of anyone doing it.
